Jiyon Boutique Resort offers a convenient escape from the hustle and bustle of Dhaka, but its overall experience is a mixed bag. Here's a breakdown:
Positives:
Prime Location: A major plus is its proximity to Dhaka, making it easily accessible for a quick retreat without long travel times. This is perfect for weekend getaways or short breaks.
Good Facilities: The resort provides a decent range of amenities, likely including a pool, perhaps a small gym, and other recreational options. These facilities contribute to a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Spacious Rooms: The large rooms are a definite highlight, offering ample space for comfort and relaxation. This is particularly important for families or those who appreciate having extra room to move around.
Negatives:
Subpar Food: The food is a significant letdown. Both the taste and the portion sizes are below average, which can be a major disappointment for guests, especially considering the likely price point. This is an area that desperately needs attention.
Limited Space: The resort grounds are relatively small. This can make the resort feel crowded, especially during peak times, and may limit the range of activities or areas to explore. It might lack the sense of spaciousness and tranquility some guests seek.
Management Issues: There's room for improvement in the management of the resort. This could encompass various aspects, from responsiveness to guest requests to overall organization and efficiency. Better management could significantly enhance the guest experience.
Overall:
Jiyon Boutique Resort has the potential to be a great escape from Dhaka, thanks to its convenient location, good facilities, and spacious rooms. However, the below-average food, limited space, and management issues detract from the overall experience. If the resort addresses these shortcomings, particularly the food quality and management efficiency, it could become a truly desirable destination. As it stands, it's a decent option for a quick getaway if you prioritize location and room size and are willing to overlook the food and potentially deal with some...
Read moreWe visited Jiyon Boutique Resort with our entire family on a Friday, and the experience was quite mixed.
Starting with the room, it was tidy, but the air conditioning was a major issue. The AC wasn't functioning properly—it couldn't cool the room, and none of the remote buttons worked, leaving it stuck in a fixed mode. Since it was a hot summer day, we had a hard time staying comfortable. We complained to the management, but they couldn’t offer a proper solution, instead providing us with a stand fan. While the room facilities and washroom were fine, the AC issue was a big letdown, earning the room just 1★.
The service was mediocre. While we were told that checkout time was 7 PM, one staff member approached us at 6 PM, claiming our checkout time had already passed. This caused some confusion and made the experience awkward. I'd rate the service 2★ out of 5.
The food was decent, though overpriced. For lunch, we were served polao, chicken roast, beef, salad, and soft drinks, with firni as dessert. While the taste was fine, it didn’t feel worth the 800 BDT price tag.
The highlight of the resort was undoubtedly the swimming pool. It was beautiful, with a shallow section perfect for kids, and our baby nephew had a blast. I personally enjoyed it as well, going to the pool twice. The pool experience was easily 5★. The resort itself was small but well-maintained, featuring lots of greenery, trees, flowers, a theme park for kids, and even a few deer.
Overall, Jiyon Boutique Resort had its ups and downs. While the pool and the overall beauty of the resort were enjoyable, the room issues and service left much to be desired. I’d give the...
