Hotel Grand Akther — Hotel in Sylhet Division

Stayed over at many hotels but this was the worst I have seen in my life. The bed sheets were incredibly dirty despite them claiming the room was "cleaned." They charge 10,000 BDT (~$80) per night and claim that they discount the rooms for half the price with complementary breakfast. Absolute bullshit. We had no complementary breakfast, the management was terrible, power outages were common and not resolved immediately. The very few times that we did call the front desk, they were rude & unhelpful. They would often hang up in the middle of a complaint. Often, they would lie about things as well. Service, management, etc is absolutely terrible. The one time we ordered food, it genuinely tasted horrible and took forever to be prepared. Complementary breakfast is inexistent. For all the foreigners looking into this hotel, don't even step foot into this place. The restaurant doesn't open until 10 AM.

The beds are terrible and uncomfortable. My body was aching during my stay.

The managers promised a VIP type of service, but in reality, you are better off sleeping on the streets.

Can't forget their terrible environment. The environment is very unpleasant and unsafe, especially when you step outside. You'll feel uncomfortable among all the people staring that are hanging out in the area.

They have 2 elevators, but 1 is often shut. The button to the 8th floor in which they have more rooms doesn't work in one of the elevators.

Overall, I do not recommend this hotel at all. There are MUCH nicer places for the price. This shouldn't even be called a hotel, a slum is probably better than whatever...

If I could I would give 0 star but I don’t have the option for it.

I got 2 rooms for 3 nights but i had to leave after 2 nights because the service was trash, the first night I complained about few things in the room that not even working when is new hotel and they said they will fix it next day but they didn’t anyway this is nothing.

It’s a 5 starts hotel and you can’t even sleep because of the noise and for 2 rooms and 4 people they gave only 2 single blanket, 2 toothbrush when I asked them that 2 single blanket it’s not enough for 4 person they said that’s how it is they can’t do anything about it and middle of the night one person came to check my room if anyone else inside he check the washroom and Waldrop no privacy at all…

Plus so many mosquito,( I don’t suggest this hotel to any londoni ) you will regret

We stay here for 2 days. This hotel is the one of the best hotel in Sylhet city. Room price is reasonable. Rooms are well decorated. Toilets is also clean. AC was good in service. They also provided free Wifi for thier guests. There is a also rooftop restaurant name Panaroma Restaurant. Foods quality is good. Fresh foods was served to us.

We avoid Majar Road hotels for noisy & crowd. If you have plan to visit in Sylhet & want a noise free hotel this Grand Akter is...
