The restaurant get’s a couple of stars for the food, but the front of house needs a course in good restaurant management.

We hadn’t booked. Three tables were full. A lovely table at the front was free. And a rubbish one. Guess where we were put? And, when I asked for the nice one, the reason given was that the nice table had been booked. What, someone had phoned up and said: “I demand table seven”? Rubbish. And guess when the booking for the nice table turned up? Yes: you’re right. They never did. It hadn’t been booked at all. Test by then, I was in the full Caribbean sun.

So when I came to pay, I called the manager out. He refused to budge: “oh yes it’s been booked”. That’s garbage. I also queried the service charge, as I absolutely didn’t want to pay for that arrogance. I was told it is mandatory in Barbados. So I paid it. It’s not. I want it back please.

I’m sure the restaurant doesn’t care: I’m just another tourist. Our travel agent offered us the Atlantic to stay. We chose Eco Lodge. I’m so glad we did. The thing is, we have friends, and above all young goddaughters, on the island, so we come every year. We come to the east every year. We’ll never come here again, and I’ll make sure everyone I know on the island knows why.

All that for a table and a shitty B$16.70; if the restaurant bothers to read these reviews ask yourself one simple question: was...

Such a shame: not the experience we wanted especially spending over $300 on a meal. We had called into Fish Pot to make a reservation there & were able to glean where we might sit : as is important for a sunset meal. Mitchica made our reservation for the following Monday. I explained that we were intending checking out Atlantis… She happened to be on the phone to them & I asked that she book us an outer table (saving us a trip / call). She assured us all was sorted! So when we arrive & they can’t find our reservation! And I say that I definitely want an outside table… No sir, we are all booked for the outside tables. I simply indicated we will be leaving. The manager then found us a table at the back : but on the edge. This turned out to be a sorry state of affairs as there was simply no air & I was cooking! Frankly, we should have gone! Annoyingly too.. when we did leave there was a table for two on the edge still unoccupied! You can imagine our annoyance! Food & service we couldn’t fault! Such a shame. The email arrives the next day from Fish Pot to remind us of our reservation! It got a curt reply! I wasn’t going to waste money with this...

I was very excited to stay here and almost 8 months prior booked a sea view 4 poster bed room with wood floors on the top floor for 400 USD. When we arrived we were told we were” upgraded “ to a shockingly bad room on the ground floor in a separate building. It had old tile floors, was dusty and we looked into a parking lot. There was no four poster bed. The bathroom was depressing. When contacted the manager tried to sell the upgrade but as you can see from the photos this was not the case. We were moved to accommodate others of a longer booking. The hotel should have let us know or not have let the others book- it’s wrong to advertise and allow people to book something and then give them something else . And to call it an “upgrade “ only made matters worse. He did try to make some offers of a different night stay etc but this did not work. We had waited a long time for this room and we got nothing even close and spent a lot of money. I would be very weary of booking here - you don’t seem to get what you book or pay for. It’s a shame because it would have been potentially...

We were looking high and low for over an hr for a place to have lunch. This was our 4th stop, and boy did we find the hidden treasure. It was exactly what we were looking for, picturesque view, nice cool breeze, way more than just a little elbow room, tastefully decorated and the biggest golden nugget of them all, staff that would make any establishment top tier! We loved everythaang! From the Hotel Manager who greeted us (and yes he makes a mean Whiskey Sour ya'll, but don't tell him I said that lol) to the gem of all gems, our beautifully outstanding, and very competent waitress RHEA! Almost forgot about the food. Yes it was fabulous. Nothing to complain about. May God continue to bless and keep this wonderful oasis opened for many years to come. See you all again soon!
