Boutique Hotel De Brakelhoen Vlaamse Ardennen — Hotel in Brakel

Sadly I’ve been dealing with poor costumer service all day from this high end motel. Made a mistake on booking them today on Expedia when I looked up a hotel in Brussels and for some reason they came up. Looked like a very nice quiet hotel and then after I booked it, saw that it was an hour away. My fault completely I understand that. At first I called the front desk a few minutes after booking the reservation explained the situation and the man was very kind and wanted to help me out realizing I can’t even get to them from where I was. Again this was a few minutes after making the reservation. He said he would contact Expedia and see what he could do. I called back 30 minutes later and he said he couldn’t get ahold of Expedia and to try him again tomorrow. I messaged Expedia myself and they told me no one from the hotel contacted them and when they tried calling them themselves no one would pick up. Try again in 72 hours was again the response. I messaged the hotel on Expedia again explaining what happened and they informed me that they will not be canceling my reservation nor give me my money back. I tried calling the hotel and they’ve forwarded my calls to their voicemail. Very poor costumer service I’m honestly horrified how this was handled. A mistake happened and now I’m out more then $500. I even offered to pay for one night and haven’t heard...

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful house. And although, we live only a few miles away, we will remember our stay for a very long time!||||Both hosts welcomed us very warmly. The ambiance in this B&B is one of absolute luxury and quality. From bed to bath, from room to breakfast room, from terrace to the garden: this is a place to escape and forget all worries and stress. Moreover, the breakfast too is a feast for all your senses. Nothing is missing. Everything is put on the table with incredible care and taste!||||The large swimming pool and the wonderful jacuzzi are an absolute added value. Guests who like to play a little game of ‘Petanque’ or ‘Jeu de boules’ can do so in the lush garden.||||One thing is sure, the 5 stars are not awarded lightly. For our small and humble village, this B&B is a blessing. From day one, an international and partly business clientele found their way to The Brakelhoen. Just open and already renowned at home and abroad. We could not be more proud!||||A negative comment perhaps to finish? We greatly enjoyed the stay. ||The view on the fields from the skilfully restored manor is really beautiful. You can have a drink in the peaceful courtyard adjacent to the swimming pool.||The breakfast is eggscellent - indeed, they keep their own chickens - and nothing is missing: 6 different homemade jams, fresh orange juice,... and a lot of homemade small breakfast treats. All that is served with a delightful familiarity of the extremely friendly owners who will do everything to make you feel at home (even book restaurants for you and help you with an extensive list of good gastronomic and cultural recommendations).||The room was spacious and the bathroom very luxurious (large rain shower, bath,...)||We also booked a very relaxing massage that can be organized in the on site room specially designed for a wellness treatment.||Everything at hand to have a...
