The characteristic hotel is located off the main road, so it is very quiet. The parking space is very convenient. If you look through the window of your room, you can see the beautiful sloping landscape, which I personally found very relaxing. ||Rooms are spacious and clean, and everything is there that you need. Maybe in summer, a small fridge would be good to keep your water and other stuff cool, but we were prepared, and brought our own coolbox :)||We never had such fast wifi as in this hotel !||And at night, it is so quiet to sleep, really no noise coming from anywhere.||||It was also very relaxing to have a drink in the nice pub of the hotel.||||Breakfast also was good. There were different kind of rolls, raisin bread, fresh fruit, different kinds of cold cuts, marmelade (even home made !), orange juice and coffee as much as you want, and tea if you ask. And even a local speciality: eggs boiled in water with onions ! It was so relaxing to have such a quiet and good breakfast. Maybe the choice in the large hotels is bigger, but never made with so much love and care ! Anyway, we found the breakfast very good, with more than enough different things to eat.||||And then last but not least: the owner was very helpfull and friendly. He did everything he could for you, and as fast as possible...||We will...
Read moreA very pleasant little hotel in an attractive setting that we discovered almost by accident, we didn't find it listed on our satnav. There don’t seem to be many places like this in Belgium, most we’ve stayed at in the past have been large modern prison block type chain hotels, quite efficient but very little charm. Everything at Ri Coëme was clean and tidy with a lovely couple running it, and situated some way from the main road, it was quiet at night. Belgium isn’t famous for its scenic beauty, but the view of rolling countryside from our bedroom window was quite breathtaking. The house was built some years ago by a famous local artist, his work adorns most of the hotel’s walls, and in the breakfast room, an entire wall is taken up by a huge stained glass window, something else that he was famous for, examples of his work can be seen in churches all over Belgium. Owner Dany and his wife are charming hosts, if you stay there, ask him to suggest local eating places. Highly recommended for anyone travelling across this...
