The room is clean and comfortable but to get to the room there is a manual elevator that is extremely slow and extremely loud. Our room has a glass wall with no curtains so you have light from the lights at night and you will be woke up as soon as the sun comes up from the light it was about 5:30 this morning. Then at 6:30 AM a couple of workers thought it was OK to use the elevator. Needless to say I did not get a good night sleep here. When we arrived there was a family with three children and the children were so loud and out of control not sure how the parents could sit out by the pool with them we certainly could not enjoy the pool. Did not try the food or the zip line I would not stay here again. We were the only ones up here but there are three rooms up here so if the other two rooms are occupied that elevator would be extremely annoying! Yes I did stay with you, you even told me they weren't your workers they were guest and that you asked them to use the ladder. That elevator is ridiculous so slow and so freaking loud. Also you can clearly see in the photos the glass brick wall with no curtains you told me you would put some up I hope you do and next time someone calls and you ask if a manual elevator is OK be sure to inform them they will need earplugs and will be woke up if someone uses it while they're trying to sleep!😡

We stayed here for 4 nights. We were the only couple at the property for our stay so they upgraded us to a 2-bed villa that had a kitchenette. The bathrooms are spacious and the stone shower is lovely. Calico jack’s has been aiming to be as sustainable on-property as they can. They grow much of their food and are expanding that daily. The food on their menu is great and I have never had better fried chicken In my life. The pool is delightful and you can even take lunch & drinks out there. Rigo took care of us most of our stay and he’s awesome. We did the zip line as well and it’s so much fun! The calico jack’s zip line truly is a jungle experience.

For those of you who like peace and quiet, and - most importantly- nature, this is the place. Slow travelling at its best: you can relax by the pool, go for a walk, use the gym/meditation centre or just wander around El Progresso. Good people (both staff and locals), good food (simple and super fresh), good vibes. If you’re bored after a few days, go for an organized trip (Julio is THE BEST GUIDE EVERRR) or try their zip lines (advanced with Dennis and Dani). You can also commute to San Ignacio (also some good food spots there!). We’ve prolonged our stay by two more nights and it was the best decision ever. Enjoy the jungle 🌴

We had a great unforgettable experience in Calico Jack's Village. Julio picked us from the airport. He was warm and welcoming. We reached Calico Jack's Village very late. Their usual restaurant closing time is 7:00. They kept their restaurant open specially for us. Food was awesome. Manager Maria took great care of our family throughout our stay. We had arranged all our activities through them and they also had onsite activities. Julio took us to Xunantunich and Box Tunich cave. He was great, knowledgeable, explained us about the Mayan culture & lifestyle. We went to La Vega Trail with Andy. It was a very adventures hike for our family with small kids. He explained us about the forest, and the medicinal plants. We enjoyed the hike. They have Zip ling in the property. My son was scared to do zip lining. Andy and Jose took great care of my son and my son was able to do it. Office/Kitchen staff Joselyn was very nice too. They arranged Cave Tubing through guide Abel. Abel was so good. He told us so much about Mayan history and the caves. We enjoyed so much. At the end of our stay, we arranged ride through them to drop us at the Water taxi location. William dropped us and waited until we boarded the water taxi. Great team. I would definitely recommend this place. You won't get...

I can't say enough good things about Calico Jack's. My wife and I, our two girls (8 & 11), and my mom stayed there for four nights. We stayed in the moon temple, which was perfect because it had three separate bedrooms. One had two twin beds, so it was perfect for the 5 of us.

The grounds were well maintained and our girls loved lounging at the pool whenever we weren't out exploring. We had tours outside the resort each day, but while on the resort we did the cave tour and ziplining. I would highly recommend both. Just make sure to use bug spray.

The food was incredible. We had planned to go to San Ignacio to eat a couple nights, but the food at Calico Jack's was so good (and convenient) that we ate dinner there every night and twice for lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed trying everything on the menu. Even our youngest, who's a very picky eater, said multiple times how impressed she was with the food.

The staff at Calico Jack's was absolutely perfect. They were super friendly and professional, and made our stay feel extra special.

To sum it up, we all felt like Calico Jack's was one of the highlights of our 8 day trip. It felt like our own...
