Of all the places I have stayed at in belize (over 10 between my two trips in belize), Clarissa Falls is the best in so many ways.
First of all the location is incredible, nestled up against the gorgeous Mopan river, inside the jungle reserve that Mrs. Chena has dedicated her life to restoring and preserving. There is so much wildlife to enjoy during your stay!
The accomidations where fantastic little Mayan Cabanas that allowing you to immerse yourself into the jungle while still being comfortable.
The best part is Chenas cooking, she makes everything from scratch including the cocktails from fruits and vegetables she either grows on the property or gets from local Belizian farmers. I had some of my favorite meals in the entire country during my stay here.
Best of Mrs. Chena is such amazing and lovely person. She is so warm and welcoming that you feel like family during your stay. She gets so much satisfaction from making her guests happy and comfortable. She truly goes above and beyond would be expected! Please stay here if possible for you. You will...
Read moreSuch a beautiful and welcoming place! Chena is an amazing host, making sure we had everything we needed.
The resort itself is very rustic with simple thatched roof cabins. Fans are available but not necessary during our stay in December.
The food is about as close to farm to table as you can get, with Chena’s personal garden and farm providing the majority of menu items.
Don’t expect great internet, but it wasn’t missed, as the location right along the Mopan River gives you an opportunity to disconnect from the outside world. Chena was very helpful in suggesting some excursions, as well as booking some for us with guides she knew and trusted. We were within a 30 minute drive to the Xunantunich ruins and under an hour’s drive to the ATM Cave, which Chena organized on our behalf (including a pick up by our guide).
If you find yourself exploring the San Ignacio area of Belize, Clarissa Falls is an ideal base to spend your vacation. Definitely...
Read moreMy Mom & I stayed at this gorgeous place for 2 nights, one of the BEST experiences ever! Azucena the owner/chef/hostess of the ranch is one of the most genuine, caring, delightful person I have ever met. She made breakfast, lunch & dinner for us, everything we had was absolutely delicious! It was so calming & harmonious there. We also booked a tour at Xunantunich Mayan ruins & the ATM cave tour through Azucena, she set up everything for us & included a lunch with the tour. That was an unbelievable day exploring, hiking, swimming through the deep caverns of the cave. 100% recommend staying here you will never...
