Bill and Jenny are amazing hosts; so welcoming, warm and friendly. Our 6-night stay at their beautiful resort was filled with lovely meals and great conversation. Our cabin had everything we needed and it was so romantic sleeping under a vaulted palapa roof. The surrounding jungle is alive with sound - chirps and birdsong. The location of their property is in a protected bay and you get amazing daily sunsets that you can watch from shore or floating in water as warm as a bath. We took a 15-20 minute bike ride to the Mayan ruins (the oldest and only seaside ruins in Belize) and we could have also chosen to walk or kayak to the ruins. Jenny booked an all-day boat ride/snorkeling/fishing trip to the Bacalar Chico Nature Park and Marine Reserve (BCNP-MR) for us where we ate conch ceviche fresh from the sea and made on the boat. We also enjoyed Sangria made with Bill's own hibiscus wine. One of the fish caught was my dinner that night. ||||Having lived here over 16 years, Bill & Jenny introduced us to neighbours and locals. This is their home and they invited us to share it with them. This is not your typical resort vacation. It is truly relaxing and we got a taste of Belizian life that we loved! This is 'off the grid' at its best and we look forward...

Read moreBill & Jenny are amazing hosts; so warm, welcoming and friendly. During our 6-night stay we shared many a meal and great conversation with them. Excellent food can be had throughout the day but we tended to have two meals - brunch/lunch and dinner. Always plentiful and well-prepared. Their property is gorgeous and in a protected bay a 15-minute bike ride away (or a walk or kayak away for that matter) from Mayan ruins (the oldest and only seaside ruins in Belize). The location of their property means amazing daily sunsets that you can watch from shore or while in water the temperature of a warm bath. They arranged a day-long boat trip/snorkeling/fishing adventure to Bacalar Chico National Park and Marine Reserve (BCNP-MR). We loved our cabin which is simple and romantic; especially sleeping under an impressive vaulted palapa roof. Living in Belize for over 16 years, this is Bill & Jenny's home and they welcomed us to it - introducing us to neighbours and locals. We didn't feel like we were at a tourist resort, we felt like we were part of Belizian daily life. A unique and memorable vacation that we...
