Amazing little hidden away spot with the most incredibly friendly and helpful staff. There is no restuarant on site, but the "day resort" and spa next door has a great restaurant with sea views, outdoor seating, a full bar, great prices, great service, great atmosphere and a great selection of delicious food- ranging from traditional Creole dishes & Ceviche to traditional hamburgers. They are open throughout the day and only a 2 minute walk up a small dirt road away. I believe there is also another restaurant nearby (within short walking distance), but I did not sample it. The hotel is also situated only a three minute drive or fifteen minute walk from town- or a five minute bike ride (the hotel provides free bikes), if you prefer.
If you are motorcycling or driving, the parking is gated and secure- I was able to drive my motorcycle right up to my room to unload.
The rooms are spacious, have a good selection of television on large flat screens (primarily in English, some in Spanish), have decent AC (I had to set mine to a temperature a bit lower than I usually would, but once I did, the room quickly cooled to a cool, relaxing temperature), the plumbing was fine, but the toilets did require that the handle be held down (in reference to a previous review- not the most powerful flush, but no plumbing backup, at worst maybe 2 flushes were required... that is not a fault of the hotel, as low flow toilets are required for conservation- not even an an annoyance for me, just a note). Other than the low-flow, water conserving toilets sometimes requiring a second flush, the bathroom was large, modern, clean, and had a great shower with decent hot running water (if you travel a lot, you will notice that warm climates, especially in Latin and South America, often lack hot running water entirely or rely on on demand electric heaters which serve only to warm the water slightly- This Hotel Had Above Average Hot Water!).
Beds are comfortable and large, the balconies are MASSIVE and PRIVATE with THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEWS of the Caribbean. Every room has somewhat of a sea view (amazing sunrise for those who are up early- obviously all the beaches face East, so you won't find a hotel where you can watch the sun set over the water in the area- that said, the sunsets are visible from the pier and very nice.)
There are plenty of chairs and an "artificial" sand beach (Belize doesn't have many natural sand beaches, and none exist in Corazal) but it is just as good in my opinion, and swimming is allowed and great in the clear blue water- either off the stone bulkhead at the head of the hotel, or off the pier/dock to stone jetty jutting 100ft into the bay.
Drinking water is available free of charge, and the front desk is 24 hours. There is also 24 hour security.
This isn't really the place for those looking for non-stop party (honestly, I do not know of anywhere in Belize that is), but is perfect for a relaxing getaway to some of the most beautiful areas in Central America. The hotel is quiet and incredibly peaceful, and trips for day activities can be arranged at the front desk. There are plenty of ancient Mayan ruins, caving, river tubing and diving excursions available in the area.
IN CONCLUSION: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU PLAN ON VISITING CORAZAL OR BELIZE IN GENERAL. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED STAYING HERE AND THE RATES ARE PRETTY COMPETITIVE.

Read moreThis is a review for Unit 3. Pros: The room was huge & spotlessly clean. A lot of care shown to the manicured grounds, & everything made to whimsical & cheery with the beautiful different pastel colours of each unit. Great shower & hot water. The gardens & outdoor decor & lights were lovely. Very close to the airport & directly on the water. Free laundry service was an unexpected treat. The restaurant was great, the food delicious & the portions large & great pricing & view. The pool was really nice & had a swim-up bar with stools in the water & the water temperature was great. The rooms were very quiet & each had a private balcony. There is about 6 or 7 steps up, but it wasn't a problem for us.
Cons: My friend got locked in the bathroom for at least 15 minutes, due to the handle malfunctioning. It was very scary for her & she was panicking. If she was on her own it could have been very bad as there are no windows to escape from & the door was a very heavy, solid wood which would have been impossible to break down without a chainsaw or big axe. Wifi wasn't the greatest. The steps into the ocean are extremely slippery & my friend slipped on them gashing her leg badly. There are no warning signs & no hand rails. The ocean water was very silty & lots of silt on the ocean floor made it quite difficult to walk in. The mattresses were on the hard side. Had a tiny baby cockroach run across the mattress when I moved the pillow causing me to leave the lights on all night. This was pretty distressing! As this is the tropics, I understand they are common, but a simple door sweep & weatherstripping around the door would solve...
Read moreThis appeared to be the nicest place in the area around Corozal. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were air conditioned. The setting is quiet so nothing except a thunderstorm interfered with sleep. There was full-time security on the premises although they weren't armed so they wouldn't be able to do much in the event of a problem. Electricity was the familiar 110V like in the USA so we didn't need converters. My biggest complaint was that the bathroom shower drain always stank like a sewer and no amount of exhaust fan use would eradicate it.
The staff was cordial and pleasant, even offering to do laundry. I took them up on the offer because we were doing a lot of manual labor and my clothes were filthy, but unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to residual detergent when I used the laundered clothing again. It took five days and a prescription to control the reaction. I am not aware that others in my group encountered similar problems, so this may be a matter of my own hypersensitivity. Just putting out the caution for you. My doctor says that Chinese laundries outside the USA often use dioxane, which is prohibited in the USA.
The hotel is within a brisk 15-minute walk to places where you can get food in town. There is also a large grocery/convenience store on the road toward Ranchito that is just minutes away by car. On site you can only get water, soft drinks, and beer (but they do...
