Maya Heights Village Resort — Hotel in Stann Creek District

This is a beautiful resort and the staff are incredibly helpful. If you are not driving yourself and have no time concerns, this is the perfect place. We drove ourselves and had a 4wd so could go up to our room which was great. I have to admit that we joked about having a curfew because when we headed out to dinner one night, we were called to see when we would be back so they could open the gate for us. We stayed in the panoramic cabins which were very clean with comfy bed despite being a little cramped. Bed was pushed against wall so one person had to crawl out. Unfortunately the pool which we were excited to have a room overlooking was empty and we couldn't use it. Internet had to be reset by the staff a few times and there are no TVs..maybe that is a bonus but we like to go to sleep to some mindless noise in the background. The staff were amazing and always happy to take care of all our needs to the point of bringing us both food and medicine down to the cabin when my husband was sick. We enjoyed our stay there and wish we could have taken more advantage of the tours and hikes but we not there very much. Food was really good but plan an hour even for breakfast..we were late for an appointment our first day due to that..that was on us..we just didn't think about Belizean...

We visited the restaurant not rhe resort. The views are fantastic and the breeze was great. The food was ok! We got 3 appetizers and only one was good. The artichoke dip was like a soup, the Belizian cheese dip was cold and the taste was ok. Now the jalapeño bombers were really good. I ordered the stew chicken with rice and beans and my food was not very hot. The rice and beans were very dry. I poured all the gravy from the stew chicken and they still felt very dry. I do have to say the key lime pie was out of this world delicious and that is why I gave this place 4 stars...

The food was excellent and reasonable and the service was beyond polite. It's a must try if you are in the area. Roberto, thank you for the information you provided on our drive to the restaurant, We will definitely be visiting again. I encourage you all to try. You will fall in love with this place. I will be visiting again very soon but this time to take a swim...
