Hôtel Tata Somba — Hotel in Atakora Department

The hotel seems to have seen better times. Now it’s a shamble, maybe because of Covid and tourism difficulty, but they don’t do much to improve it and cleanliness leaves much to be desired. I was first given a room with a half broken AC and I protested, so they moved me to another, larger, with three beds, a double and a single. The painting falls off the walls, the cupboard has the stick to hang clothes fallen to the floor, the shower was cold, there was only one small bath towel and no hand towel. At least the AC worked and there was a mosquito net ( plenty of mosquitos in the place). There is a small swimming pool that I didn’t dare to use, the whole hotel looked old and shabby. From the view and visit and from other sources, this seems to be the best hotel available in Nattitingou. Natti is situated in the North of Benin Republic. The hotel is located at the foot of a hill and very nice scene too. The compound is very large and surrounded by trees. It's quite relaxing to walk around or even sit around and chat.I love the entrance and driveway in to the hotel. It's nice and quiet place to be. Although a little bit of maintenance and cleaning in the compound will make a big difference. The swimming pool is a fair size, not too big,clean but nothing special. There is a bar and a restaurant and an African gift shop for artifacts, African maps,if you want a souvenir to bring with you. The price,it's pocket friendly that's all I can say. Since 30 years, I had the opportunity to stay in Tata Somba Hotel for a couple of days. The staff is friendly and customer-oriented and does a lot to meet the client´s expectations. So I do not complain about food and service. The pool as well: nice place to stay when you come to this place after a long and dusty trip. But the hotel management didn't invest in hardware that much during the last 30 years. The rooms are small, the bed sheets are not very clean, the sanitary installations are poor.
