Residence MaryHouse — Hotel in Cotonou

The place is a serviced apartment and it is nice for a budget stay. Stayed in the two bedrooms apartment with my family for some days.

The staff are VERY VERY slow in their response to issues. There are no vehicles in Residence and the apartment does not seem to have any arrangements with transporters/cab drivers, other than a specific driver the apartment reported to use for airport pick up and drop off. All of these should be looked into.

Light goes off every evening for a prolong period of time, sometimes it could last for an hour before power will be restored. In my 5 days stay at the apartment, power went off everyday without immediately restoring same. This should be addressed.

On a brighter note, the apartment is in a good location and you can connect anywhere. It is also closed to a market if you like to buy things to make your meals. I brought my food items but had to purchase a few things at the market at some point. There's also an auto shop just few yards away and you can easily hire a vehicle from there which will take you anywhere within and outside Cotonou. Other than that, you can always go anywhere with motorbikes.

On the whole, if you want a budget apartment in Cotonou, I will recommend this place. However, I urge the management to fix some of the issues I have...

My husband and I stayed here for one night because it was close to the airport. I would describe it as basic and simple, meets the bare minimum for a comfortable stay. Wifi, good A/C, clean room and private bathroom. It was a bit difficult to find as it is situated at the end of a dirt road and only has a small sign out front. My only issue is that they overcharged us for breakfast without our consent. We ordered via WhatsApp as instructed (breakfast advertised as 1500f per person, with a picture that includes an omelette, bread, coffee, and juice). They charged us 4000f (2000f/person), stating that they decided to include the juice for us, which is extra. I was frustrated because the picture included juice, and felt that we were taken advantage of because we were never told that the juice was extra. I was given a warm welcome by the receptionist and the other members of staff. The room is security conscious which can only be opened by a card. There was a kitchen with everything in it . Room is spacious enough for one person or a couple. Overall, my Less than 24 hrs spent there was great. I had no problem whatsoever. And oh! There's wi-fi which can be accessed by scanning the QR code . And not forgetting an airport pickup. The driver was on time, he was really patient despite the delay and he was very helpful and polite.
