The Loren at Pink beach is a very Modern Hotel. If you're traveling on a Budget, this is NOT the Hotel for you (or the ISLAND for you, for that matter). Upon entry to The Loren at Pink Beach, I was greeted immediately, and was asked my name; I was then asked if I'd like a cold beverage. The young lady then asked if I'd please give her a few minutes, and if I'd like to have a seat on the Patio just to the rear of the lobby...I said yes. The views from the patio were Gorgeous, and a great introduction to the Hotel; blue water, as far as the eyes could see. I asked if there was a cocktail bar, and the front desk representative said yes, secured my luggage, and escorted me to the outside bar/restaurant (which was covered on top at the time). It was Lovely. I ended up taking my Prosecco to the Pool/Patio area, and laying on one of the Pool lounge chairs. I checked in hours in advance. ROOMS: The rooms are VERY Spacious, as are their balconies; the balconies have coffee tables and comfy seating. ALL Rooms have Ocean Views! Flat screen 60 inch TV. The bed was King & on the 'soft' side of comfy. Plenty of U.S. compatible outlets. The Nespresso machine never worked for me. The furniture was wood, w.other natural materials...Art-Deco vibe. (I'LL TRY TO POST THE VIDEO I TOOK OF THE ROOM). There was non-shaggy permanent carpeting surrounding the bed, but the entry & perimeter of the room was hard wood. **I had trouble with my First room: the sliding glass door was broken; the hotel was unaware&surprised, which says they need Regular Guest room Inspections. I left the room once on the first day, not realizing the left side of the sliding glass door was ajar & literally ripped from the wall.; Maintenance came and recommended they move me; and they did-2 doors down. The second room's view was Even more beautiful; but, I found the room to be dusty (floors/surfaces) and not as clean as the first room. The bathroom was HUGE, as well; it had a very nice stand alone tub, and a separate, Large walk-in shower. The shower was big enough for 4 people! The separate area for the toilet had no door. There were double sinks-counter space was a bit small. There was a LARGE shaggy-type rug (an area rug) in the bathroom, which I didn't like; it was out of place- like having a carpeted bathroom, and it took up half the bathroom floor. There were 2 large, white bathrobes provided, plenty of towels, but not many hand towels. LOCATION: The hotel is a 5 min. drive from 'The Flatts' area, where there are very good restaurants incl "The Village Pantry", my Fave (the Aquarium is in the Flatts area too). Hotel is 20 mins from City of Hamilton, and 12 mins from the airport. BEACH/POOL: Very pretty private stretch of beach. I saw fish near shore, and maybe even a Whale not too far out in the Atlantic...neat! I digress...so the Sand is indeed pink'ish...there are sparkly pink sand particles that are clear in person--and when the sand gets wet. It was too cold to get in the Ocean while I was there. The two hotel Pools are heated for cool nights. The Pool/Patio area has plenting of lounge/pool chairs and umbrellas. They also have private Cabanas; I'm sure you'd pay a lot per cabana during Busy Season, but I used one, and noone said a word, as it was Off-season during my visit. HOTEL STAFF: The Staff were Very Pleasant and helpful. Cole, Ky, Robyn, Gregory, Neville, all were very kind and attentive. SMELL: The first room, Rm#201 smelled 'damp' or 'slightly musty'; the second room #203 was better. The hallways near the rooms were damp smelling, as well. Overall, they need to place dehumidifiers in the rooms & throughout the guestvroom hallways; maybe even naturally scented potpourri, and plants that absorb odors. HOUSEKEEPING: MEDIOCRE, at best. IMPORTANT: There is NO place to buy Snacks or Incidentals at Hotel. I went to 'Harrington Hundreds' grocery store and bought snacks, water/vitaminwater and Wine...

My husband and I visited the Loren for a belated birthday celebration and our anniversary. We were looking forward to a quiet weekend away given the excellent reviews, but unfortunately that was not our experience and this hotel fell short of our expectations.
For starters, I have traveled a lot and stayed in many wonderful hotels. This is not one of them.
The one positive I’ll note to this hotel is that the room itself was very large and the bathroom was big with a soaking tub shower. My husband had a massage at the spa which he enjoyed. Each room has an ocean view and we enjoyed sitting on our patio in the evenings listening to the ocean (when an event was NOT taking place.)
We stayed for four nights, and our stay overlapped with two weddings. We were not made aware of the weddings prior to booking. We arrived at the hotel only to find out there were two “private events” on both Saturday and Sunday and the main restaurant—the pink beach club restaurant— would be completely closed for all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner!) due to these private events for Saturday and Sunday. We received a note on our bed the evening prior notifying us of this, which also noted we could expect to hear “loud music throughout the property until midnight.” So, so much for our quiet weekend away. Not only were there photographer’s drones flying above the pool, but there was loud thumping music from 3 PM until midnight on Saturday and Sunday right below our room. For those who have not been here, the restaurant is right next to the pool, so for these large weddings the wedding guests trickled into the pool area. We felt uncomfortable sitting there, forcing us back to our room. To add to this, there was construction going on in the building we stayed. So in addition to the wedding music and wedding guests, we could also hear drilling and hammering from the construction above our room.
Part of the reason we booked this hotel, and are paying the high price of the hotel (700+ a night, not including fees) was to relax by the pool and enjoy the waterfront restaurant. I made a dinner reservation at the pink beach club prior to our arrival, only to be told when we got to the hotel it wasn’t available and instead we were told we could eat in the “lounge” which has no view.
Ultimately on the second consecutive day of these noisy events, my husband and I complained to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager.
**I will note the man working the AM front desk on Monday upon our checkout was very apologetic and understanding. I understand the staff has no control over events but I appreciate his graciousness nonetheless. The issue was simply poor management and inconsiderate communication to other guests.
The restaurant service is also very poor. Staff seem confused and lack training. They bring food to the wrong table, and items we ordered were missing several times. Expect to wait 20 minutes for coffee, never get refills of water or coffee, and wait at least 45 min to an hour for food of any kind. We also had to ask multiple times for the check before it was brought to us.
Lastly, the gym is very small with no airflow, and several times there were no towels available by the pool and we had to get one ourselves from a rolling clean laundry hamper in the hallway.
My recommendations to this hotel: inform your guests of events at the time of booking. We would not have stayed here had we known. Or, require a full hotel block...
Read moreMy family and I had a terrible stay at the Loren this past week. At the time of booking we informed the hotel of our allergies and in doing so expected that they would thoroughly clean and inspect our room prior to our arrival. However, the room we were placed in (room 214) had a severe mold and moisture issue. Pictures are attached here. When we notified the front desk they immediately offered a dehumidifier. This to me indicates that they knew they had an issue in that room, but they were simply hoping we would not notice or complain. We declined the offer of the dehumidifier and insisted that the hotel place us in a safer room because no one should occupy a damp room infested with mold. My family and I were then moved to another room in the villas section of the hotel in the middle of the night. We were told we could only stay in that room for one night. On awakening the next morning there was no plan to address our room situation or the mold/moisture problem and we actually had to seek out hotel management. The manager first claimed there was no other available room, but then attempted to place us in the room next to the mold infested room where we could already see similar signs of mold starting to appear. We refused this room and requested to speak with the hotel’s General Manager. We were told she was on calls and not free to speak with us. Finding this response simply unacceptable we emailed the Chief Operating Officer of the hotel and then magically not only was the General Manager available to speak with us but they had an available room on the other side of the property away from the mold wing. The General Manager took no accountability for the state of the room 214 and the hotel’s lack luster response to ruining our vacation. She informed us that they could make a call to the Rosewood but made no mention of who would pay for such a stay. We declined to change hotels as this would make the fourth move in a matter of days and we were just too tired from it all and wanted this trip to end since it was already ruined. Seeing how angry we were she offered to credit us for one night of our stay. Further, after being pressed, she assured us that room 214 would be taken off the market and they would rectify the mold issue. We note that the room next to room 214 that was shown to us (that was starting to show similar signs of mold) was occupied during our stay, so hope those guests are well. I am taking the time to post this review because I sincerely hope the hotel does in fact properly remediate their mold and moisture problem because there are families with young children who visit this property and I would hate to think of a child or someone with respiratory issues being placed in room 214 or any room that has a mold and moisture issue. If you happen to visit this property in the future please do yourself a favor and look up at the ceilings and air vents and pay attention to any signs of dampness on the walls and smell in the room. If something doesn’t seem right please speak up and document the issue with pictures. In any event I do believe an Environmental Health Officer needs to pay this property a visit because guests at the property should be assured they are not endangering their health and safety by...
