Six Senses Paro is an exquisite retreat that beautifully blends luxury with a sense of home. The shared living room is a warm, welcoming space — it feels like being part of an extended family, ideal for those moments when you’re not in your room or out exploring. With thoughtfully curated board games and their signature crystal water — clear jars adorned with ethereal crystals — even hydration feels like a ritual here.
One of the biggest perks is the 24x7 restaurant service. The freedom to eat on your own schedule, without being tied to fixed meal times, is a real luxury on holiday.
A highlight of any visit to Paro is the Tiger’s Nest trek. It’s challenging — and I saw more than a few guests turn back mid-way — but the hotel’s incredible support makes it a joy. From the 4:30 am tea and 5 am breakfast service, to the thoughtfully packed picnic baskets handed out by 5:30 am, every detail is handled with care. And when you return, you’re greeted by masseurs ready to soothe your tired feet, and housekeeping staff who quietly whisk away your muddy shoes and socks, returning them later — fresh and spotless. I was floored by the attentiveness.
The spa is a sanctuary in itself — with a heated pool, sauna, cold dip, and therapy rooms that offer perfect post-trek rejuvenation or simple indulgence for the laid-back traveller.
There’s also a charming vegetable garden on the property, open for guests to wander through, and take in the tranquillity of nature.
This boutique property strikes a perfect balance: the intimacy and warmth of a luxurious home, with the privacy and sophistication of a world-class hotel. Wake up to postcard views — snow-capped mountains, drifting clouds, and the deep greens set against the striking hues of the ancient “stone ruins” that lend the property its distinctive character. It’s...
Read moreMy husband and I have just had the most wonderful 4 night stay at Six Senses Paro. ||From the moment we arrived everyone was warm, friendly and highly attentive. During our stay, the level of service was exceptional; nothing was ever too much trouble . Roy, the General Manager, made us feel extremely welcome and well looked after, his team focussed on ensuring that every guest has the most incredible stay.||The views from the hotel are breathtaking. Having stayed at many of the Six Senses hotels around the world, Bhutan is definitely one of the most beautiful countries we have ever visited and this hotel is quite possibly our favourite.||We stayed in an Upper Lodge Suite which was luxurious and well appointed with modern touches such as a lovely wood burning stove, comfortable window seat, large restful bath tub and warm, cosy throws. It was extremely spacious and offered a wonderful sense of calm and tranquility. ||We want to give a specific mention to the chef who provided a very personalised approach to our meals and cooked a couple of wonderful, off-menu options for us based on the local catch and seasonal vegetables of the day. The dining menus themselves are varied and offer many delicious and healthy options using high quality, fresh locally sourced ingredients. ||We booked the sauna and cold plunge pool a couple of time during our stay and would highly recommend this. I also had a foot and leg massage which was extremely relaxing after a few days of hiking.||We want to thank everyone for making our stay so memorable. We highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again sometime...
Read moreWhen it comes to the experience of staying somewhere, I believe every hotel has its own way of embodying what “the best” means.
A hotel like Jumeirah seems to compete by testing the limits of what money can buy, while a place like Aman often plays on its rarity—something not everyone can access.
Six Senses, however, seems to value something quite different. True to its name, it never forgets that the one who experiences these “six senses” is not a static object, but a living, changing being.
I actually inquired with Amankora as well, but Six Senses’ response stood out. It genuinely felt like I was communicating with real people—sometimes like friends, sometimes even like a caring mother. Their communication is so personal and heartfelt that you almost feel as though you’re part of their community.
When you look closely at each staff member, you notice how well they take care of themselves, how positively they think and share ideas, and how sincerely they engage with this industry every single day. I believe the true identity of this hotel lies within its people.
There’s something here that no other hotel can offer. During my stay, I was able to let go of every worry and focus completely on my senses, my body, and my mind. My heartfelt gratitude to all the staff who supported me (Roy, Jack, Tshering, Ugyen, Kesang, +all the other that I didn’t mention) wholeheartedly throughout...
