What an absolutely fabulous experience! My partner and I spent three unforgettable nights at &Beyond’s Punakha River Lodge, and from start to finish, everything was pure perfection.||From the warmest of welcomes to the stunning tented suites, from the deliciously generous meals to the exceptional hospitality - every detail was thoughtfully curated. A special mention to our incredible butler, Khem, who was the most gracious host.||The lodge’s idyllic location, nestled along a meandering river, makes it the perfect base to explore the Punakha Valley. While Aman, Six Senses, and COMO also have beautiful properties in the area, nothing compares to the serenity and setting of &Beyond. Waking up to the soothing sounds of the river, crossing the picturesque suspension bridge that leads to hidden hiking trails and charming villages - it was pure magic. Each morning, my partner and I would retreat to the riverbank for private meditation, surrounded by the noise of birds and flowing water - a truly peaceful and grounding experience.||Beyond the stunning scenery, the lodge offers a range of daily activities, from morning yoga to Bhutanese archery (which, thanks to Khem, turned into a very fun and competitive match!).||For those planning a visit, I highly recommend staying for at least three nights to fully soak in the beauty of this retreat. Our family of seven had the most incredible stay at &Beyond Punakha River Lodge! From the moment we arrived, everything felt special — the setting, the food, the attention to detail, and above all, the warm and professional team led with such strong leadership.

What truly set this stay apart was the way the team cared for us when my son suddenly fell ill. They immediately supported him with oral rehydration and meals from the BRATT diet, and later even arranged a video consult with a doctor in South Africa. The fact that the lodge had the required medication on hand meant treatment started right away. We didn’t have to scramble for medical help in a new country — that peace of mind is priceless.

We have travelled extensively around the world and stayed at many five-star properties, but the service we received here goes far beyond five-star. To our surprise, the medical support was even included in our stay — something unheard of anywhere else!

we love and beyond properties and are trying to stay at all of them around the world. We schedule a special trip to Bhutan just so we could stay at this lodge. The staff was incredibly friendly and took such good care of us. This is one of the newest properties in the country and they’ve really wone a fantastic job building it into the countryside so you don’t even realize how brawled out the resort is. I believe they purchased about 80 acres of land, but they’ll resort takes up only about 15 acres of it. The rest of the land was put back into a trust and given to the local people to cultivate. The resort then has an agreement where they buy back those agricultural products to use in the kitchen. Talk about fresh and delicious. From the lodge you can easily walk in multiple directions to enjoy unbelievably scenic hikes. We were disappointed from our Vietnam trip because we’d never got the opportunity to see the Rheis terraces. However, this is better. In every way you walk there are beautiful Rheis terraces cut into the mountain side making for a picture. Ask scenic view.
