What an experience! We'd been travelling for a couple months now and needed a bit of a break and a couple days to relax. The north side of Isla del Sol is where we found our paradise. Stunning views, beatiful beaches and the most tranquil atmosphere imaginable. Its a 2 hour boat ride from Copacabana to Challapampa, and then a 15min walk along a sandy beach and slightly uphill to the house. The room has everything to make you feel at home, even a heater! Our host Oscar was also the reason we prolonged our stay from 3 to 5 nights! A simple breakfast and delicious dinner is brought to your doorstep. Oscar is so respectful and kind in all his interactions with us. He helped us not only get to the island but also enabled us to experience multiple highlights on this small island, including renting a rowboat from his fisherman cousin to visit the mearby islands or even go fishing with his cousin (laying out nets in the evening and pulling in the fish in the morning). We immediately cooked the fish in a wonderful bolivian meal with the whole family. Beyond that the island has a couple of hidden gems to hike to, like ruins, beaches and more. We took a boat to the south and hiked back home along the whole island. Compared to the south, the north has much less tourism and feels so peaceful and serene. Lastly, the whole experience is expanded by some of the most fantastic sunrise views, and a similar sunset is a mere 15min walk away. Highly recommend to get in touch with Oscar and plan more than just...
Read moreI want to share our wonderful experience at this special and magical place. Oscar met us at the boat drop in Challapampa to walk us to the accommodation. Which we didn’t expect 😊The accommodation was one of our favorite if not best stays. It had amazing view of the lake for sunrise, And if you have clear skys you will be treated with great views of stars and galaxies. Clean and comfortable , big bed & additional bunk beds with plenty of warm blankets. A standing room heater for the chilly temps, hot shower and basic breakfast to fill your belly before hiking the trails. (Which are close by) You can also hang out at the private beach just steps away. Book this place! If you can, do more then just one day. We wish we did. Oscar could help arrange boat rides to Yampupata from Yumani or give recommendation on places to eat and things to do. It was such a pleasure to have met him and his wife and stayed at their place. Truly great people. We would definitely stay with them again. Contact him through WhatsApp...
Read moreI only stayed at Ecolodge Inti Wat’a for one night, but it left such a lasting impression that I wish I could have stayed longer. The lodge is everything I hoped for and more—a peaceful sanctuary with stunning big windows that frame the views of Lake Titicaca perfectly. It felt like I was surrounded by the beauty of the island at every moment.
The mattress was so incredibly comfortable, and after a long day of exploring, it was exactly what I needed. Even though my stay was short, I left feeling completely rested and recharged.
The energy of this area is calmer and more serene, and I’m so glad I made the decision to stay here. It truly made my visit to Isla del Sol unforgettable.
If you’re thinking of visiting the island, I can’t recommend Ecolodge Inti Wat’a enough. Even with just one night, it made my trip feel...
