APART HOTEL LA BANDA — Hotel in Municipio Tarija

We came with my family to this place through AirBNB, which was very convenient for us, although it is located 8 minutes away from the city, it feels like you were in the middle of the countryside, a big green area with some young fruit trees, the main entrance is located on a dirt road, the pavement finishes a few meters before arriving to the hotel. There is a house surrounded by a fence where apparently the brother of the owner lives there, an outdoor swimming pool is located next to the house that can be used by the hotel guests, in the other side there is a parking place with a big cover made of some kind of fabric to create shade for the cars, and walking a little bit more, there three apartments, the ones that are rented. The only way to get to this place is by taxi or having your own car, which was our case. Don't expect any reception office, a girl showed up from a little house and she is the one in charge of the place, and she took us to our apartment.

The apartment I was surprised by the size of it, it is big enough for a big family, it has 3 bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, private bathroom and walk-in closet, the other two rooms have 2 single beds each, each one with a good size closet with three doors, and all the bedrooms have AC if it gets too warm. The living/dining room has a big fan (no AC). It has a kitchen with a gas range, a small fridge and some utensils. Breakfast is included everyday with fresh bread. There is hot water in the bathrooms and kitchen. Towels are provided and there is a cleaning service every day. And last it has TV cable in the living room and WiFi service, although we had problems with the internet until a technician came to fix the router the next day.

Cons about the apartment There might not be a problem for some guests, but from my opinion they should be mentioned. We arrived on a rainy season, and the apartment had some leaks in two rooms and in the kitchen, we had to move a bed to avoid one leak. The apartment doesn't include a washing machine, I have already rented some apartments in the past and all of them had a washing machine, if you have little kids it is important to have one, they offered us to hire a lady to wash the clothes, but in my experience it is not a good idea, I prefer to wash my own clothes. Una vez un filósofo que tenía su estudio frente a las oficinas de la empresa en la que trabajaba , al ver la preocupación que teníamos, nos preguntó que estaba pasando; le contestamos que eran los problemas diarios que teníamos que enfrentar, a lo cual nos respondió....Los problemas son problemas porque no se les da soluciones. Siempre me acuerdo de esa frase y si pensamos en los problemas que muchas veces dejamos transcurrir años, porque no queremos darles soluciones, nos daríamos cuenta cuanta razón hay en aquella respuesta. Se presentó un problema en nuestra reserva y ella y su temple no solo lo resolvieron, sino que su resultado fue superador a la opción original.
