Hotel Boutique Parador Santa Ana Chiquitos — Hotel in San Ignacio de Velasco

I had a great stay in this charming hotel. The hotel owner arranged a taxi for me to visit multiple missions in towns around the area. The taxi driver and guides at each of the missions were helpful and friendly and were never impatient with my mediocre Spanish. I saw churches and workshops, stopped in a couple towns and had deep, dark coffee and just checked out the scene. It is a rural area; quiet and slow: enjoy that aspect. ||||The owner also took me to a few sights around town and he is genuinely interested in sharing the local history and contemporary culture. I had a simply lovely time staying at the Parador Santa Ana. I speak some Spanish and I certainly put it to the test throughout my visit to Bolivia (which was one of the goals of my trip).||||It is a stunning region that is well worth a stay. It was beautiful and very different from other regions in Bolivia. Transportation to and from Santa Cruz requires a sense of adventure, but that's no surprise and part of the experience of visiting this area. ||||If I return to this part of the world, I'd travel to this region via Brazil and visit the Pantanal as well. ||||I traveled in the region...

I stayed here with my partner for 2 nights on 6 January 2012. The cost of the room was 210 bols which included breakfast. We arrived very late at night owing to an exhausting chicken bus journey in extreme heat from San Jose. The owner Ricardo met us at the door,said we should fill in the usual forms but that we looked very tired so tomorrow would be OK. ||We were shown a room which was slightly drab but had everything we needed: air-con, hot water shower, Internet access etc.||Breakfast the next morning was very good: buffet-style. We ate it on a patio and it felt very relaxed. A most pleasant woman (Matilde) was there to look after us if needed. We subsequently had dinner in the same place, which was tasty.||On the day we left, our bus was scheduled at 7 in the evening. Ricardo rang and booked tickets for us. He allowed us to stay in our room until 6pm for no extra charge and then drove us to the bus station. He was charming and helpful throughout our stay.||It is service like this (especially the late check-out) which gets a hotel a good name and means we would certainly recommend it to others. Thank...
