I cannot say enough good things about CHOBE GAME LODGE and our experience during our stay. The accommodations are like any high end hotel, the service is so subtly attentive, and the location can't be beat. So the details: Upon arrival, we were greeted with a drink and a personalized overview of the property, offerings and details during our check in. Our luggage was already in our room, and we were delighted to see the view from our balcony, the soft comfortable bed, and furnishings, and the individually controlled a/c and heat. It is a proper hotel room, and there were no mosquito nets, as they are not needed. The room was impeccably clean. We never wanted for anything during our stay, the still water and other drinks were replaced in our fridge, the bathroom was well equipped and the shower was as hot or refreshingly cool as we liked. I thought the robe was a bit small/short for plus size but it sufficed. | The dining was a hybrid buffet and menu options during each meal and on different days. They have local and world cuisines, and we never felt lacking in choices. Guests receive service from the same server for the entirely of their stay, which is delightful. Our server was attentive, and always anticipating our needs. When I hurt my knee, he was promptly there with a bag of ice to sooth the injury for the next few mealtimes till I recovered. | Spoiler alert We celebrated our anniversary, and were given a private table for two away from the dining room ( there are many dining spots throughout the property). and at the end of our meal we were serenaded by 6 or 7 of the staff. They sounded like a proper choir, and indeed, do have singing practice sessions to make sure they sound just perfect! We were so impressed and appreciative. |The grounds are maintained daily, with sweeping and cleaning, and warthogs munching on the grass! They keep it trimmed like part of the staff! There are many lounge areas to enjoy throughout. There is a medical room, and a delightful gift shop. I didn't think we would have opportunities to buy gifts, but were so pleasantly surprised. The shop had tasteful souvenirs and gifts. A special feature of the property is the long elevated boardwalk which leads to a terrace area overlooking a wide expanse of the river and flat river bank. If you search for "webcam" that is the view. It was a thrill to see what I'd been checking on my computer before arrival in real life at last!|The guests are never short of opportunities to view animals. With three excursions (game drives) on land and on the river daily, we were always busy without getting tired or feeling rushed. The "Chobe Angels" are the guides, who are all women. Part of an initiative to empower women and offer career opportunities . They are knowledgeable and have interesting anecdotes. Most of all, we felt very safe getting up close to the animals knowing our guides were always assessing the mood and having a watchful eye. Being inside the park, we were able to get right out and start the day without the time-wasting journey to the park gates and beyond.|The whole resort is driven by its eco-tourism. The boats are solar powered ( which is a HUGE advantage because they are silent) and won't disturb the peaceful river experience, or drone on in any animal video you capture! We saw a photo-centered boat that looked great, but sounded too loud for the atmosphere!|The animals in Chobe National Park do not disappoint! While everyone's experience is different, we saw so many thrilling animal scenes... mother and baby baboons, a pride of lions, elephants crossing the river.. and so many more. |These are just a few reasons we loved our experience here and would...

This lodge is incredibly unique in many ways:

  1. Incredibly helpful and kind staff.
  2. Location inside the park maximizes the time you are experiencing the wild wilderness. All other lodges have to queue outside the gate before the park opens and then endure "rush-hour" traffic as they travel into the park.
  3. A commitment to sustainability with solar powered boats that are quiet and comfortable.
  4. Support women with a policy of "Women only guides" along with continued education and advanced certifications. The pride these excellent guides have working together at Chobe Game Lodge is amazing. I believe these professional ladies will make significant impact to the industry and communities across Africa.
  5. Magnificent wildlife encounters and experiences.
  6. As for guides: ask for Elly... She is one of the best safari guides I have had the pleasure to travel with. She is knowledgeable, explains what we are experiencing very well, has a nice sense of humor and fun to be with for long game drives. I learned much from her.
  7. Accommodations are amazing. Well decorated, comfortable, clean, and cozy.
  8. Food is wonderful and to my surprise upon arrival after 2 weeks in the bush - made to order wood fired pizza! I was craving pizza and there it was - world class hand made perfectly cooked PIZZA! Not a fan of pizza like me - no worries they had something special for everyone at every meal.

I highly recommend this lodge - they are unique in many ways and will care for...

We started our Botswana safari at Chobe Park Lodge and could not have asked for a better start! The grounds, rooms, and common areas are beautiful and well maintained, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the animal sightings abundant! Each day you have 2 drives and a water excursion. You have a handful of breaks between them (which we used to review the hundreds of pictures we had taken) and the evenings to yourself. The park can sometimes feel a bit crowded with outfitters staying outside the park coming in, but the payoff is that a lot of ground is being covered and the guides stay in constant communication so you're seeing a lot of wildlife in action. Elephant, lions, leopards, hippos, and we were fortunate with a very rare cheetah sighting. Huge shoutout out to Elly our guide during our full stay. She was so knowledgeable of the area and animals and was a total boss navigating the terrain and making sure we had the best views. Our meal service team - Vino and Freddy - were also exceptional. Can't recommend Chobe enough - especially as a first stop to get acclimated to safari life.

Experience 40 thousand elephants with two angels. This lodge is gorgeous. Pool spa two bars. And great food. But what sets this place apart is Fernando the singing waiter and the chobe angels. Here the ladies guide and they speak lion leopard elephant Cape buffalo and more. We got to experience Gary beach. One of the few sand beaches. And did I say elephant. We had captain and momma. These ladies lead with style. Each knows the animals and one is like zena the warrior while the other could be Wonder Woman. When we went boating over 100 hippos came to share the experience. You will love this place. But you must ask for captain as your guide. Get the best. And don’t forget to insist on tge mambo . You will be so happy. And don’t forget to ask about the candle lit dinner under the stars. Romantic and fun. Fernando will sing to you too. And the chobe angels will show you the best wildlife up close and educate you on the animal kingdom. For elegance and angels this is the one place. But please ask for captain. The lead angel

Great facility with great food and AMAZING views. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. The wait, bar and housekeeping staff are very friendly and professional. The park is great with LOTS of elephants, lions, impala, monkeys, baboons and warthogs. They offer both road vehicle and boat based safaris. The only downside is the number of road vehicles in the public park. On spotting a leopard, there were 10+ vehicles crammed on the road like a new york traffic jam, which made it difficult to see. Being a national park, none of the vehicles are permitted off road, so everyone was crammed on top of each other. This comes with being a public park vs a private game reserve. Because the lodge is the only structure in the park however, you get out earlier than anyone else so you to get an hour or so of peace. The boat safari is great as it offers a different view and more peaceful experience than the road vehicles.
