Diggers Inn — Hotel in North-East District

Decent hotel with clean beds, hot showers, and great food in the upstairs grill house. What absolutely spoiled our stay was having the drinks bill magically increased on our dinner tab! All seven of us had a few beers before and with dinner and were all quite sober. So we were quite surprised to see over 60 alcoholic drinks on our bill between seven, nearly 9 drinks each! We each had a large main course and shared starters, so would have been physically impossible to fit that many drinks in our system! ||Unfortunately we had already paid our bill before checking the details. When confronted our waiter stammered and couldn't make eye contact with any of our team. We demanded to see the manager who eventually arrived. After being asked if he thought it possible that we had each consumed 9 drinks a piece, he just laughed and looked at us condescendingly and said yes. After waiting for over 20 minutes we grew tired of them and left. ||Surprisingly, the manager then came to knock on the door of one of our team and said upon doing stocktake it appeared that there were an extra 8 beers in stock, and that we would be refunded for them. ||Absolutely a hugely disappointing end to our trip to have the staff attempt to rip us off. Be warned if you come here in a large group, you WILL be taken...

Note booked 2 rooms.|Upon arriving the front desk couldn't find our reservation.|Eventually that was sorted.|When we got to our rooms, there were no towels.|However the rooms themselves were clean and comfortable.||At breakfast we the food was good, however we had to follow up to ask for our drinks, which only ended up arriving after we finished eating even though we ordered drinks before the food.||We had asked for late check out and to keep our luggage in 1 of the rooms.|After moving everything to one room and going downstairs we got asked to move our luggage to the other room as they had a check in, which was a little inconvenient but we did so and carried on with our day, upon arriving back before the scheduled check out time we go to the room to find all our belongings were gone.|Went back to the front desk and they didn't know were our belongings were.|To find out house keeping moved everything back to the original room.||When asking to speak to the manager and voicing our concerns, we got a less then interested apology until we said our reviews off our stay would reflect to which his attitude then changed.||The internet was also sub par.||The lodge itself, we nice and affordable, however the staff have...
