I was reluctant to book in family based on reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised with the state of the place.||The place is in a semi-rural area of Maun. It's a fair reflection of the environment in which it is. It is rustic and beautiful in its own way.||We arrived well after midnight but we found someone waiting for us to check in. ||We also booked a one-day Safari to Moremi Game Reserve, and it was fantastic.||On the down side is the breakfast quality. Also, the family chalet actually has only one bedroom with three beds without any form of separation. If booking for family I'd suggest booking more than one chalet or some other place with more than one bedroom. It's a good thing that we were courteously accommodated in two chalets as a family.||Maun in general has high potential as a destination. The government of Botswana should do much more than it's currently doing (which is not much) to assist tourism businesses in the area e.g. Cleaning up of streets, maintenance and upkeep of access roads, and installation of...

We were once again laying over before our Safari and apart from one other guest were the only people staying here. It is faded but characterful and quirky. The water pressure is good and showers are hot and the rooms in circular "shamba" style perfectly adequate.|A small swimming pool with four sunbeds, one on each side, gave us somewhere to sit and watch the prolific birdlife in the surrounding scrub.|The staff are really pleasant and we preordered our dinner and breakfast so they knew what time we were dining. The meat on my steak burger was pretty chewy but everything was cooked freshly with excellent vegetables and fries and we were watched expectantly by three or four of the resident cats and kittens. Expect a bed and breakfast style establishment rather than a hotel and you will not be...
Read moreHave had a lovely stay here. Arrived Saturday 16/03/2019. Check inn process was a breeze.
Had at first issues with spiders and insects in my room however that was sorted out by reception staff for me.
A absolute massive shout out goes to all the ladies who work here who are always there to assist with anything. Nothing too big or small for them.
Special thanks to Boi and Patricia who cooked me a lovely steak meal the one night and steak burger for lunch the next respectively.
My final appreciation goes to Thomas (not sure of spelling) who has really been the sweetest person I have met on my trip to the various regions in Botswana. She is such a pleasant soul, always smiles and laughs and great company to chat to. I will miss you and visit you when here again 🤗.
If you do stay here, you will know what I mean should you have the pleasure of meeting the...
