Our stay in Karagoma camp was nothing short of magical, we are a family of 4, mom, dad, daughter 27 and son 18. We are very experiences safari travelers, but this is our first trip to Botswana and the delta.||Getting to the camp|We came in from Capetown, flying to Maun and then with small plane to Vumbura airstrip where helicopters was awaiting. Elephants greeted us in Vumbura. The Helicopter ride was around 12 minutes and what 12 minutes it was, flying low over teh delta experiencing the amazing scenery of the delta while spotting wildlife was nothing short of breathtaking.||Arrival|The team was waiting for us when we arrived with the chopper, happy, smiling and warm greeting with a little snack and something to drink. Absolutely top notch from the full camp staff. The staff took our luggage and we immediately started with the first game drive. After only 10 minutes we saw a pack of wild dogs with puppies. How lucky can you get that the pack was in the area and had just had puppies. We saw Elephants, Zebras and various birds.||Camp|After the afternoon drive we arrived in camp and was shown to our 2 tents, wow, real bush feeling but at the at the same time a sense of luxury and tranquility. our tent was literary on the water due to flooding in the delta over the last period. We could not have asked for better location. The camp only have 6 tents so its really intimate and close to the staff. We were quite alone the first 2 nights and the camp filled up (capacity only 14) but still very cozy and personal.||The camp is in our view the best we have ever seen in terms of tents, location, views and service. Honestly not a single point to critique. we loved the camp.||Staff|The staff is amazing, it is a very intimate camp and all staff greets you by your first name, nothing is impossible, any request is met with a smile and a laugh. It’s very much face on, authentic and kind. It’s also quite informal which we like. The staff is what is really making this special. From manager, to greeters, to kitchen to everything else. Star staff.||we have to mention our ranger and tracker. Shakes, our ranger was amazing, calm, knowledgeable, a very good driver, kind, authoritarian, took safety very seriously and just a super person to be around. Our tracker Mosomali (spelling ?) came from the delta and knew everything about life in the delta, about wildlife, tracking and was very calm and explained details we we never have been able to read about. The 2 supplemented each other very well and gave a complete and immersive experience. Absolutely superstars.||Every morning we were woken at 6 am with a bottle of hot water for coffee, fast breakfast at 6.25 and game-drive starting 6.45. Superb breakfast in the bush, Back for lunch, rest and then game drives at 16.00, sun downer and the dinner in the camp and boma (campfire). Early to bed and ready for the next day. ||Activities||The star of the show is of course the game drives, The delta is an amazing place with the true African experience. Wildlife needs to be found, and sometimes its hard work, but the rewards is worth it. Seeing an elephant feed in the water, buffalo’s on the savanna, Zebras running through water, fish eagles, horn bills, lions is rewarding after a long tracking. But the delta is not for first timers on salaries, I would recommend Masai Mara or South Africa or Chobe for first timers as wild life is more easy to find. But for us the Karagoma experience is by far superior, but this is also our 5th safari trip. You will not see the big five, we saw lion, buffaloes and elephants. We missed the leopard but did also not want to spend a full day chasing one species. We like the full experience and have seen the big 5 before.||Mokoro|The Mokoro experience is very tranquil and a super experience to take in nature||Boat trip on the river|Amazing, we saw a lot of wildlife including hippos, an elephant crossing the river, many amazing birds. A must do.||Food in the camp.|Top notch food served by the chef and kitchen staff. healthy, tasteful and saved in cozy surroundings. Breakfast in the bush was the best, well prepared, diverse, eaten in the bush while seeing birds, bugs. loved it.||Equipment.|The cars are the best we have seen, brand new land cruisers, but not afraid to use them.||We would recommend the camp at anytime, we only stayed 3 nights, this was a night too little.||LOVED IT, Thank you to the whole...

Hands down...the BEST!||My wife and I, another couple and one of their adult children, total of 5, visited 4 different luxury safari camps in Botswana. We started out journey from Nxai Pan National Park in the southeast and made our way up to the Okavango Panhandle, then the Okavango Delta, and eventually to the Chobe National Park in the northeast. Each of them offers unique landscape, different style of safari gaming/activities, but all in the similar price point. Karangoma is slight in the high side for the price tag, but we felt we got the most value and the best experience out of all 4.||Started out with the journey to the camp, instead of being pick-up by a 4x4 at the airstrip, we were taken by a helicopter for a 10-minute ride to the camp. This is unique and interesting. We felt we got a special bonus to view animals and the scenery from the sky.||We were received warmly by the staffs with songs, drinks and hot towers upon arrival. Very similar to other camps we were led to the main lobby and given the camp introductory tour. Immediate we can tell the different because it is brand new. The layout is simple, and the decor is elegant. From the public area to the private camp/room, they carry different local tribal patterns with unique stories. Everything is simply new. The bedding, all the furniture, and even the Toyota 4x4 Landcruiser for the game drive is brand new! ||The staffs were super nice, and they were eager to please the guests and to satisfy all the requests. Our game driver guide and assistant are extremely knowledgeable. They stood out from all 4 camps that we visited because they paid close attention to the details. What is the #1 thing safari guests want to do? The answer is taking the best photos of the wild animals. Our guide/driver took great length to provide us the best view angle PLUS with the best lighting.||The food quality, taste and presentation were also the best. Instead of serving buffet style in some big pots or trays, the food was classily presented, and the taste was simply the best out of all 4 camps.||We enjoyed the gaming in Karangoma more than other 4 camps. There are a few reasons. First, this is a brand-new camp. Animals in this area are not used to the gaming activities. In other words, we still must proactively look for them. In other camp/park, for example like the Chole National Park, the animals just stood there mining their own business. They would ignore human activities even they are very close to them. That totally lost the real wilderness charm. Karangoma maintains more primitive, and I found that to be more attractive and exciting. The diverse landscape and vegetations in Karangoma provided us a lot of opportunities for 4x4 river-cross which was more fun that other camps. As I mentioned above, the excellent guide really makes the biggest different at the end.||In summary, they are the best out of the 4 Botswana Luxury camps. It is slightly pricier but the quality in every aspect of Africa Safari plus the helicopter ride put them on the top! Why are you still here? Book and visit Karangoma! You will...
