Leopard Plains — Hotel in North-West District

From the moment we passed through the gate, our adventure began. Surrounded by the gaze of various animals as we made ou way to the lodge. We were warmly welcomed by Robert and Grace with a refreshing welcome drink. Grace then gave us a tour of the lodge.||During our evening walking safari with the expert guides Robert and Oscar we followed animal tracks and even had the chance to observe a Boomslang snake in a tree. Robert and Oscar expertly guided us to a hide. As night fell, we heard the distant powerful sound of a leopard. Oscar and Robert had strategically placed a carcass in a tree to attract the leopard, and we watched in awe as the majestic creature approched. The surrunding wildebeest sensing the leopard added the incredible atmosphere. This intimate connection with nature facilitated by Oscar and Robert is a memory we will cherish forever.||Upon returning to the lodge we were greeted by a warm fire and a delicious dinner. The next morning we embarked on a day safari in Makgadikgadi park with Robert. We requested the traditional Botswana breakfast, MOTOGO, which we thoroughly enjoyed, thanks to Grace and to the talented chef Kabelo. The safari was so inspiring, whith Robert sharing his vast knowledge as we observed lions, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, ostriches, wildebeest, jackal and giraffes interacting in their natural habitat. Our day was punctuated with a delightful lunch in the park. We are deeply grateful to Robert for this day full of surprises and learning.||The lodge team knowing we were celbrating our 9th wedding anniversary and my husband's 40th birthday organized a touching surprise. Grace, Branson and Kabelo set up a special table by the fire where we enjoyed sparkling wine and a wonderful dinner under a starry sky. Chef Kabelo prepared a delicious gluten-free cake for my husband's birthday respecting my gluten intolerance and making the occasion even more special. The team's heartfelt rendition of "Happy Birthday" added to our joy.||Leaving the lodge was difficult as we felt like part of a caring family. The Leopard team made our stay magical and their sincere attentions will forever be in our hearts. We are profundly grateful for the unforgettable experience...

What an absolutely fabulous place. I booked Leopard Plains as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend at the end of September 2023 and he and I were blown away with everything. The rooms (gorgeous), the staff (lovely and friendly), the food (delish), the grounds (amazing and full of animals), the activities, etc. Exceptional. They even made my boyfriend a cake, and sang him happy birthday! :) |We both could not recommend this place more and would 110% go back if we ever go back to Botswana. |My boyfriend and I are both very into wildlife, and I in particular to birds. There was a water hole viewable from our room, where we could see impala, kudo, zebra and all sorts of bird life going to drink. We even saw a Spotted Eagle Owl! |I would recommend the Makgadikgadi National Park day excursion and the sundowner game drive on the grounds. |Loved the firepit area, where you could sit at night and look at the beautiful skies. I can't say anything about the lodge itself. It may be great....||But: We were flying with a small airplane around Botswana and chosed that lodge because it has a small airstrip. 4 days prior our planned arrival, we have been noticed, that the airstrip is closed due to a lot of recent rain. So it was no use for us to visit the lodge, it was planned for just one night...||The told us, we should fly to Maun and they would pick us up there. 160 km driving, all the requirements for a big international airport and 160 € charge for the pickup. That made no sense for us. So we changed our plans and skipped the lodge.||They charged us the full price, not even a compromise with an aditional book of the dinner for me and my daughter.||This might be rightfull, but I don't like people, who are just looking on short advantage with no sense of problems for others...||||So for me a...
