Maun Waterfront — Hotel in North-West District

Maun Waterfront was the first step of our safari and we couldn’t have picked a better place for it. In short, you are super close to restaurants, shops (especially handy if you’re self driving), and only 10-ish minute drive from the airport. Note that the lodge can arrange for a local taxi driver to take you places at super reasonable prices if you don’t have a car.

The rooms are airy, beds comfortable and the lodge is super green with a lot of birdlife coming to visit and a large pool under the trees.

Staff are absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to accommodate us - both our diet (vegan) and generally assisting the prep for our self-drive.

Also worth noting that the lodge recently became Botswana-owned so you're also supporting a local business.

I’m traveling through Maun on long self drives since the early 80’s to get provisions and a real bed.

The Waterfront is brand new, when you step out of your bedroom onto your private terrace, the Thamalakane River is at your feet. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is big and has everything. Make sure to book dinner with Patrick the owner, you won’t regret it, the best meal in town so far, filet roasted over the fire and boerekos, their homemade desert is to die for and you enjoy it all by the fire.Heather, the wife is a wine importer, so you’re gonna have the best.

Considering what other places offer, the price at the Waterfront is unbeatable, the service superb, I’m gonna be back...

Wonderful nights stay @ Maun Waterfront. The rooms are well appointed and have been recently updated, with a lot of little details, such as mosquito spray, coffee percolator and home baked goods, which make for a comfortable stay. Located on the waterfront, Muan Waterfront is peaceful and truly makes for a relaxing start/end to the day. Breakfast is something to write home about, with an array of home baked breads, fresh fruits, full cream yogurts, home-made cherry preserve all rounded off with a great morning coffee.
