A friend and I recently spent the night at the Maun Studios after staying at some game camps. First of all it was great to have air-conditioning which worked really well! Second, both of our rooms were spacious and nicely decorated with great kitchens. Mine also had a lovely outside sitting area. And, the best part was the lovely garden and the peaceful setting where we had breakfast. It was a great experience and Sarah was a delightful host. She shared with us information on Maun and she offered to take us on a short shopping expedition on the way to the airport. Also, although the Studios are not near restaurants, we were given transportation too and from dinner. Thanks for everything Sarah, and my daughter and I are both enjoying our locally made bags!

We felt at home at the Maun Studios. Rocky, Margaret and Sarah are excellent hosts. They recommended restaurants and made it easy for us to be picked up or dropped off somewhere. We were in the tent in October, so it was pretty warm, especially late morning before the verandah was in shade. It was great to dip in the pool to cool off. The Meru tent suited us well as it is in a corner overlooking the Thamalakane River. If you like the photos of the rooms on their website and would prefer a sort of bed & breakfast to a hotel you will like staying here.

This place is amazing, if google had 6 stars I would have given them no problem. It’s clean, spacious and most importantly it’s ran by nicest people. Breakfast is great. Nothing negative about this place. 100% recommended.

A hidden Juwel of Charm, Hospitality and Relaxation

We stayed for two nights, one before heading out to the delta for a 10-days safari, one before the international flights back to Germany. Staying there a night before and after our safari was the best choice we could have made to slow down and relax from this thrilling adventure and to get ready for our return flights.

Arriving after the long-haul flight at the Studios embedded in a park-like garden and being greeted by Sarah, Margret and Rocky with such a warm welcome felt like returning to friends we hadn't seen for a long time.

Their hospitality made us feel right at home and they went out of their way to help in every way including transferring us to/from the airport and advising on genuine shopping opportunities.

The studios are very spacious with comfy beds, clean and quiet – and located in a spectacular tropical and shady garden, a green oasis teeming with bird-life – apparently even the home of a giant eagle owl we were lucky enough to spot in one of the gardens trees.

Just outside the property the river banks of the Thamalakane River are perfect for an early morning walk and more bird spotting along the river.

Breakfast is delicious, plentiful and served in a thatched area in the garden. Sarah and Margret will do whatever it takes to make your breakfast a great start for the day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and we certainly will stay there again on our next trip – a trip for which we will leverage the local presence, experience and help of Sarah, Rocky and Margret to prepare it in the best possible way.

We would highly recommend staying there – it is the perfect place to start and/or end your trip to Maun and the Okavango Delta.

Thanks Sarah, Margret and Rocky for making this such a memorable...

In May 2024 myself, my husband, my brother, uncle and aunt and friends all stayed at Maun Studios. In total we stayed for four nights and I can't say enough what an incredible time we had.||From the moment I contacted Maun Studios, Sarah was fantastic. We had quite a few changes to our booking as friends and family worked out if they could join our trip or not and Sarah helped with all these amendments with total professionalism and a wonderfully friendly and helpful manner. She was simply excellent.||Maun Studios itself is a beautiful oasis. The units are spacious and extremely comfortable and we loved the fact that each has its own privacy. The garden is lush and shady with beautiful colourful flowers, and provides a wonderful place to relax after exploring Maun.||Sarah, Rocky and Margret went out of their way for us. They dropped us in town when we wanted to go, did restaurant runs in the evenings, booked our helicopter flight, told us about the area and the various charities they oversee. They made our time in Maun incredibly enjoyable and very memorable.||Their staff also looked after us superbly well serving delicious breakfasts, organising laundry and servicing the units daily.||Thank you to all at Maun Studios for such a wonderful stay in Maun. We will without doubt stay again if we are lucky enough to visit Maun sometime in the future and we would highly recommend Maun Studios to everyone visiting Maun...

After spending two weeks self-drive in Botswana and Zimbabwe it was wonderful to arrive at Maun Studios. We decided to stay three nights in order to take stock of our trip but also enjoy Maun, a town that has a wonderful charm but often for many just a passing through point||Described by someone we met at the famers market as the best garden in Maun it was a Maun Studios was a delightful oasis. Our room was wonderful giving us a feeling we had gone back in time and allowing us to have a fabulous relaxing time||The welcome from the moment we arrived was wonderful with Sarah, Margaret, Rocky and the two Janes making us feel so welcome. Having a chance to chat in a lovely, relaxed environment was very special and allowed us to feel a little less like tourists||Set away from the main road by the river about five mins drive to the centre of Maun. Whilst the River was dry for this Maun trip it didn’t take away how wonderful the setting was ||I get the impression that guests come back to Maun Studios and I can see why – when we return to Maun we will stay with Sarah and her family and would highly recommend...
