The views are amazing, as is the location and the main lodge building. Unfortunately the service is apathetic at best, the room maintenance is absent, and they don’t provide the guide services (canoe and walking safari) we wanted. We had just transferred from Wilderness Momba so we were expecting the same high standards and quality - we were sorely let down. Issues: - we were badly paired with an elderly couple for the game drives who spoke little English and were on their first safari of their trip. This was our third so we knew what we wanted to see and do but were severely limited. The mismatch went further in that they were keen birders and wanted to stop every 100m for birds which we had no interest in. - our guide had the energy and engagement of a sloth. While he was very knowledgeable, he was not engaging and really didn’t help with the experience. - the room had several maintenance issues from a hole in the wall where a squirrel was coming and going, to dirty marks on the walls, to reading lights in the living room not working, no safe (we had to get the room safe for installed) and the day bed being stained and dirty. - we wanted to do the advertised canoe trip and a walking safari. Neither were available and no options were provided - we were simply told “we don’t have enough guides in camp to do this”. - Management was less than apathetic. No solutions, no help, more like a shrug of the shoulders and a “well that’s all we can do” attitude We were supposed to be staying for 3 nights - we left after the first. It was such a shock and disappointment after the amazing time we had a Wilderness Momba. There is clearly a management issue here.

One of the most luxurious places I've ever stayed, amazing to find this level of detail in the bush. The rooms are huge, more like a apartment, with a fully stocked bar, coffee and snacks( really not necessary as the food is over the top), plunge pool and sitting area. The staff arranged a telescope for the lunar eclipse viewing from our room, and also each room had high quality binoculars to use. The covered vehicles were comfortable and the guides individually tailored activities to each group. Don't miss the Monday night Boma where the staff dances and sings along with the traditional meal under the stars. Not the best place for wildlife viewing, but if you have already experienced the thrill of a cheetah or wild dog chase elsewhere, put this on your list Truly one of life's great adventures, don't miss it.

This is magic within magic the likes that has never been experienced before, listening to nature Lions roar hippos laughing, the energy that surrounds DUMA-TAU is so pure so natural, this is a healing place for the spiritual minds, sunsets that puts sun-kissed to sleep, you know that story of a lost lion cub that came back found its mum and said "MUM it's a jungle out there" well at DUMA-TAU he would choose to be king , a neutral ground between men and animal, the FOOD!!! honestly it's like it wasn't even put together like the fountain of love just streams into the meals, meals served while over looking the osprey lagoon with elephants swimming in families yes FAMILIES it's home😘

I had the incredible opportunity to stay at Linyanti Dumatau Wilderness Camp in April 2024, and it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nestled in the remote Linyanti Concession of northern Botswana, this camp offered a perfect blend of luxury and immersion in the African wilderness. With its prime location along the Linyanti River, bordering Chobe National Park, it provided an unforgettable combination of comfort and adventure.||From my room, I could see a peaceful lagoon often visited by hippos and elephants, and the ever-present wildlife made it feel like an adventure even when I was relaxing. The Linyanti region is renowned for its massive elephant herds, and during my stay, I also saw lions (and got to experience literal meaning of DUMATAU)🩁and a variety of antelope species and 🐘 . ||The tented suites at Dumatau đŸ„ș absolutely extraordinary. They were spacious, beautifully designed, and offered a perfect mix of luxury and connection to the natural surroundings. My suite had an expansive deck with uninterrupted views of the river and surrounding plains, allowing me to experience the sounds and sights of the bush without leaving my room. The interiors were both chic and eco-friendly, with luxurious furnishings, en-suite bathroom, outdoor shower, and a private plunge pool, which was a welcome escape from the heat.||The service at Dumatau was impeccable. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome, and their attention to detail was second to none, immediately making me feel at home in this remote part of Botswana. Every member of the team went out of their way to ensure that my experience was as personal and comfortable as possible. Every need was anticipated and taken care of, whether it was accommodating my dietary preferences, arranging special activities, or creating a magical atmosphere during meals. What really stood out to me was that the staff at Linyanti Dumatau Wilderness Camp were truly exceptional and a key part of what made my stay so memorable – they engaged in meaningful conversations, sharing stories about the local culture and their own lives, which made the experience feel even more authentic. The guide was particularly outstanding. His knowledge of the area, wildlife, and ecosystems was impressive, and he had an incredible ability to spot animals from what seemed like miles away.||🍝🍛đŸČđŸ„™|The dining at Dumatau was unforgettable. Meals were typically served outdoors, allowing me to take in the sounds of the wilderness while enjoying gourmet dishes. The chefs expertly prepared fresh, locally sourced ingredients, blending traditional African flavors with international influences. (The chef gave me some special bread recipe to try it out at home😍)||Overall, Linyanti Dumatau Wilderness Camp was more than just a luxury lodge; it was an immersive experience in one of Africa's last great wildernesses. The combination of beautiful accommodations, exceptional service, and unparalleled wildlife viewing made it a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic yet luxurious African safari. My stay in April 2024 left me with cherished memories and a deep appreciation for Botswana’s natural beauty and wildlife conservation efforts. ||Bush Regards||Certified...

What started as the first out-of-delta safari excursion proved to be one of the best travel decisions yet. Landed on the Chobe airstrip at around 10:35am on a cool Friday morning thanks to excellent piloting by Wilderness Air Pilot @ Junior - smoothest landing ever experienced. From the airstrip we were picked up by Guide BK, wow - what a humble persona! The reception at Camp was amazing - keeping with the hospitality we have come to acknowledge as Wilderness Safaris signature! Had brunch then rested a little before the late afternoon game drive. Highlight of the day - three lion couples on a mating escapade, amazingly operating in a group setting but each with his/her own. One of the young males was quite cheeky as he kept us at a distance with an occasional mock-charge. We then passed by a Den where a female was nursing a few days old cubs. The sundowner against the backdrop of a water pool hosting a bloat of about 8 hippos served a marvel. The trip back to camp under the fading light brought us to an evening of sumptuous meals and drinks. Martin, Joana, Karabo, DK, Nene, Brenda, Izzy, Taps to name a few. You guys ROCK! ||The following day started very early, we left camp around 6:00am and by 8:30am we came across another first on my safari adventures - a coalition of 5 male lions moving together, we stayed with the lions for a good 1 and half hours before moving on to other sightings (Lechwe, Elephants, Impalas) and the mating group we encountered the previous day. On the way we met one of the females from the mating group and it was clear she was now done mating and searching for her pride. We got back to Camp and had brunch on the Barge with a German couple who were very enthusiatic about green energy prospects locally (am awaiting their call... hahahaha). Came back to camp for the siesta and took off for a boat cruise - had an amazing sundowner aboard the boat and indeed moments were made. Back to camp for supper and a night of festivities as we were leaving camp the following day.||As we left DumaTau mid-morning Sunday, in as much as we left budding friendships and the tranquil setting, we took with us memories and moments that will never fade! As the Safari Journey continues, Jao is next! But if you haven't done DumaTau, Don't Wait! The Linyanti Haven is ready for you with open arms. Amazing Hospitality deserving of Premier Status. ||Thank You DumaTau -...

Duma Tau is truly a special place! From start to finish, everything about our stay at Duma Tau was perfect. The camp is beautifully appointed with no detail overlooked. It is situated alongside the river near two known elephant crossings so we saw elephants in camp every day. The dining/lounge area and the individual tents all overlook the river where there is an abundance of elephants and hippos. We enjoyed having cocktails on the floating dock by the fire while watching the elephants swim across the river in the evening. Our individual tent was lovely - well decorated, incredibly spacious with its own separate sitting room, and very comfortable. At night, hot water bottles are put in your bed and netting draped. All of our meals were delicious. Chef Pat and her team prepared amazing dinners particularly when you consider the remote location of the camp. We enjoyed a lovely lunch on the "barge" with Iezy and our guide, Nas. If you are able, schedule an afternoon game drive on the water - we saw elephants sparring, loads of hippos, and bird/eagles. The sunsets are unreal. The game viewing at Duma Tau is top notch. Our guide, Nas, was outstanding in his knowledge and understanding of the bush, putting us on the animals, and a great driver! We saw loads of elephants, hippos, impala, lions, zebra, and were even fortunate to see the wild dogs hunt. Everyone at Duma Tau is warm and friendly. We very much enjoyed getting to know to all of the staff and learning so much about the history and culture of Botswana. We were lucky to be in camp during one of the traditional boma evenings in which present traditional song and dance followed by a dinner of local cuisine. It was a special experience. A special thanks again to our guide Nas, manager Meshak, Martin, Brenda, DK, Mash, and See. This is truly a remarkable and special place that is a must if you are...
