This is an old house (like most places here). As you enter, it feels like you are entering an old museum, everything looking like early 1900. Then, towards the back, there is a walkway that takes you to a dining area (don’t get so exited), with a bar and a pool. The walkway continues to these little chalés, which are decent and clean. The bathroom is tiny and uncomfortable, terribly planned. The box has an electric shower head, functional but not nice, and the water flows very slow. There is a jacuzzi that guest can reserve, for 40 min only, and very ordinary. The swimming pool is small but OK. The afternoon tea/coffee is very simple. The breakfast is far less than I expected, staff is not friendly and service is subpar to say the least. After my first coffee, I asked for another one, which was poured on the same mug, but this time it smelled like cockroaches (I kid you not). I could not believe it myself, disgusting. That was it for me, I packed up and left to never come back. What disappoints me almost as much is how it has such a good review rating. Was I the unlucky one, or are people lowering their quality bar?...
Read moreThe pousada welcomed us with the charme of an early 20th century townhouse built in colonial style in the historic centre of Pirenopolis. The rooms/chales were spacious, well equipped, with a very nice greenyard in the central spatio, which was very well taken care of.||||The breakfast was served individually, having had to make a reservation of what somebody wants ar what time on the day before. In pandemic times this helps a lot to give the customers a feeling of safety and security. The quality was excellent, the staff helpful and very attentive.||||The only negative point was the overpricing of their (very small) wine stock. But this pousada ia definitely worth the money you pay...
Read moreThis place is a little gem: a traditional Pirenopolis house with bags of character, opening into a large courtyard garden with most of the accommodation in detached cottages in the garden (which also has hammocks and a hot-tub, although you have to book a slot for the latter). Rooms are traditional in style but with the mod cons. Breakfast and afternoon tea are served on the welcoming terrace, with lots of great home-made bread, cakes and jams, and other fabulous local produce including yoghurt, cheese and meats - absolutely delicious. There is a private car park at the rear, so no hassles parking, yet it is just a 10 minute walk to the heart of Pirenopolis. I'd definitely...
