My wife and I stayed at the inn when our reservation elsewhere was unexpectedly cancelled. The owners Olivier and Valeria are wonderful and welcoming. It is a beautiful place. ||We stayed in suite 2. It was beautifully painted in green and Aqua. The room, being in a jungle environment was always moist/ damp from the humidity. We didn't have a problem with it. We also didn't have a mosquito problem. It's a rustic cabin, with the basic necessities, yet beautifully painted and with a hammock on the porch. The shower was fabulous!||My 9 year old twins played around the grounds. It was magical for them. They went to the river and we went on nature walks. There are many butterflies and birds. ||The food in this Inn is great. My kids loved it. The ravioli is homemade as well as everything else. The salad was also delicious! We've been traveling South America for 5 months and we miss eating a wonderful salad. The potions are for two, and in my opinion it was enough. I could not imagine eating any of the dishes all by myself. I could, because it's so good, but I think I would have that over eating feeling. There was no wasted food between the four of us. ||Breakfast was delicious, plenty and with an assortment of pastries, fruits, and jams. They make one large omelet, which was always enough for us. ||The transportation was a little challenging. The buses in Paraty are disorganized. One time we took a bus that didn't drive us up the hill to the Inn, and the driver was rude. Luckily, a few people on the bus told us this was our exit and Valeria and Olivier's daughter was with us so we all got a ride back. The next day, Sunday, we missed the last bus so a different bus driver on a different route, a nice one, offered to drop us off at the bottom of the hill. From there we began to walk and a random resident in the area picked us up and took us. It's about a 4km walk to the Inn. If you don't mind the challenge and adventure, you don't need a car. A car is far easier though. ||I highly recommend this Inn for those who like rustic and adventure, as well as those seeking relaxation. ||The restaurant I also recommend!...
Read moreOverall over-priced and disappointing. ||||We stayed in the suite room which was tiny, very damp and very dark with no natural light all day and with 2 small light bulbs that didn't light the room. The cushions and throw were dirty and smelt and felt damp. The window didn't shut properly and there were no mosquito nets so we got massacred by insects. It was very hot and the fan wasn't enough to keep the room cool so we didn't sleep well. The restaurant is more expensive than the top restaurant in Paraty and is disappointing. The menu hasn't changed since the place opened by the looks of it and very average and dated. Boeuf bourguignon and onion soup at extortionate prices. ||||The place is very remote and in the jungle which is great but there are no activities offered despite what we were led to believe. The sauna and river are nice but the long raia pool had brown stagnant water with hundreds of mosquitoes hovering over the top. ||Without a car, you are reliant on the local bus which passes every 2 to 3 hours and takes 30 to 40 mins into Paraty.||||We were planning on staying five nights but had to cut it short as my husband got unwell and the room was so uncomfortable, we couldn't stay there any longer. We also couldn't have afforded to eat there for any more evening meals! There are no other restaurant options in the evenings unless you go into Paraty but bus times make it difficult to have dinner anywhere else except the hotel restaurant.||||The bigger rooms look nicer but are also very expensive. The owners are very lovely, friendly and were extremely caring when my husband got sick but I think they need to re-juvenate and re-fresh the place if it is going to continue to do well. Despite us going in high season between Christmas and New Year, there was only ever 1 other room occupied the whole time we were there.||||We have stayed in much more remote and rustic places in the jungle before and we loved it but these places offered daily activities to explore the jungle and food was included at a fraction of the price.||||I'm sorry to say I wouldn't go back there and wouldn't recommend it to friends...
Read moreThe place is very beautiful, away from the city and into the woods, and very well maintained. The rooms (2 suites, 2 lofts and 1 bungalow) are located into the woods, near a stream with a small waterfall. From the room one can listen to the running water all day long. the tap water is potable, straight from the springs, which is very rare in Brazil. ||The owners, Olivier and Valeria, were very friendly and helpful. For the animal lovers, there is a dog (Naomi) and a cat (Max). Overall, we felt very welcomed. ||The food was great, from breakfast to dinner. ||Now for the not so good stuff. We stayed in the Suite #1. The room was very dark and wet. Because it is located into the woods, it was crowded with mosquitos and the mosquito repellent available in the room was not enough. Keeping the fan on most of the time helped but I still got my legs full of bites. I would recommend another room, maybe one of the lofts that seem a lot more comfortable but also a lot more expensive. ||Speaking about cost, this is the other con. Everything seemed overpriced. From the room to the food. ||A final word of caution. I don't recommend staying there without a car. There is a bus that goes to Paraty but it doesn't go till the Inn. In addition, a car is very important to go to the several beaches nearby and also to other places to eat. I don't recommend eating frequently at the Inn. As I already mentioned, the food is great but very expensive (a lot more than similar restaurants in Paraty). ||In spite of the cons, I still recommend...
