From the moment we arrived, we were continually frustrated by the lack of effort put into planning this hotel. Parking was unnecessarily complicated and difficult because of the street location, and there was no one at the front gate to offer advice on parking. After we unpacked everything, we learned that we had to re-park our vehicle in a private gated lot. This was made more difficult by the fact that none of the staff spoke English (which seems odd for a resort with an English name). The porter seemed untrained and ensured our welcome was icy. The bedroom was thoroughly average - clean and with good air conditioning, with a nice balcony. Towels and sheets were definitely spartan - very rough and not cozy at all. The lighting in the room didn't help, as it was florescent and unpleasant. The taps in the shower are both sensitive and unlabeled. Be prepared to bounce between freezing cold and boiling hot while you try to take your first shower.||||We then decided to relax a bit by the pool and have a drink. The pool is one of the bright spots of the resort, as it is very pretty, a good temperature, and there is ample seating for guests. The cocktails are not great, but I had a lot of sympathy for the people making them, as it seemed the resort had them doing everything from waiting tables to helping with bags, to manning the bar. A proper resort should have a professional bartender (especially at the inflated price they were offering these cocktails) After a few disappointing stabs at the drinks menu, we switched to beer for the remainder of the trip. It was here that we met the other bright spot of our stay, the waiter Mateus - this guy should be running the resort. From the moment he first interacted with us, it was a breath of fresh air. He was kind, friendly, attentive, and recognized us throughout our stay. While the resort gets 2 stars, Mateus gets 5 in our book!||||The beach is unfortunately a bit disappointing. The resort only provides 5 umbrellas for everyone to use, and for a place this size that is laughably inadequate. We managed to grab a free spot as another group was leaving, but didn't stay very long. The beach behind the resort is very narrow and close to a very crowded stretch of beachside restaurants. There are also no tables to put items, and no one works to serve drinks out to customers sitting on the beach, so you have to walk all the way back to the pool bar to order every time.||||The food was okay, but disappointing for the prices they're charging. The breakfast buffet was also just okay.||||In short: please hire valets & a proper bartender, get softer towels, and promote Mateus. (Also please label the...

Read moreBright clean rooms with great view of the beach. The swimming pool is simple, clean and nicely designed. The reason to give three stars only is the very bad food and the boring environment in the evenings.||||We tried the breakfast and dinner and it was a big disaster. A possible solution could be the closest restaurant on the beach: cheap and nice food, with limited choice though.||||The nearest beach is nice and clean, but very dark in the evening with no lightening around and nothing to do. Everything around the resort is closed after 21:00. There is no much to do in the resort itself after dinner, except internet surfing, book reading and swimming in the nicely lighted pool at night.||||Overall, the resort is very cozy, a good spot for a...
