All is said in the title but let me give you further details: When we arrived at the hotel after spending a day in Inhotim, it was already dark. The receptionist, after a very inexistent/cold greeting, not only forgot (or was too lazy maybe) to give us the basics informations about the hotel, facilities or the wifi password, but she also didn't bother to show us where are room was ! And let me tell you, the "bungalows" doesn't have anything that could have given us a clue of where it was, not even a number. I had to go all the way back (it's kind of far) to ask her to show us - and she really seemed unhappy about it and expressively showed it to me. There was no phone in the room so we had to use our own data to call the reception to get the wifi password and know about the opening hours of the hotel restaurant. What can I say about the menu? Not appealing at all ! It was empty and it took them half an hour to come and ask if we wanted to order and an hour to get our plates (a dry sandwich and cold soup) It's not a cheap hotel, the food should at least be decent. Also there was napkins all over the floor (because of the wind probably) and the waiter walked on it, and let it fly away has if nothing happened. I had to get them from the floor myself and give them to him. The careless service ruins it all, and I was happy we only stayed one night. I think it's real a shame because the location itself is truly amazing, the room was cute, and the view is definitely the attraction of the hotel. I would go back ONLY and just ONLY if the owner briefs/changes the entire...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights at Estalagem do Mirante. The first impression was the worst possible. We got there after driving from Belo Horizonte and it looked like an abandoned place in the middle of nowhere. We've passed the reception, as the signs are hidden and we could not find where to go. Nobody appeared to help us. When we finally found our way, the lady that was standing at the reception desk was cold and seemed to be very annoyed to be there. We finally got the key to our room and again another adventure to find our way. The room itself was a positive surprise, clean and modern, beautifully decorated and spacious with a gorgeous view to the valley. It was really cold though with no heating whatsoever. The bathroom was OK besides from the shower that is electric (chuveiro eletrico). What a shame for the price they charge! |Breakfast was very good, a lot of choices, nice local cheeses and fruits, besides home made pastries. Dinner was not that good though. The food is just average and service really slow!!!|The hotel is located only 36 km from Inhotim Park but it takes 1 hour to get there.|To reach the rooms you have to climb high stairs, do not recommend for people with...
Read moreThis place could have been perfect! Beautiful location with astonishing mountain valley views, nice people, good breakfast and individual cabanas for privacy. However it was just average for a few reasons... Our room was nice but nothing espectacular. Big jacuzzi and nice fireplace but small bathroom, beds were so so and there was no blackout on the windows so light would come in very early in the morning. Location was beautiful but it was in the middle of nowhere. It's not close to Inhotim so expect at least an hour drive. There are no decent dining options close by. The Top of the World restaurant up the hill was awful! The worst food and service ever! The hotel's dinner was just not good. It took them 1 hour to bring us a grilled salmon. The menu was limited. Breakfast was good and the guy that works in the kitchen is just great. Service was much better during breakfast. The pool was sooooo cold! Beautiful view but you couldn't get in and there were no shades. Plus no service at all to the pool or the rooms. All in all, Inhotim was nice and the hotel was a good experience for the kids, but we...
