Hotel Fasano Trancoso — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Eunápolis - Porto Seguro

We celebrated my birthday with a couples spa day, and this place is absolutely phenomenal!

It took a little navigating to find initially because Google Maps led us astray, and there’s limited phone reception in the area (a tip: take the turn off the main highway leading into Trancoso, and follow the private road directly to the resort - hopefully you’ll spot the signpost, and it’ll save you about 30 minutes).

Once we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by a super friendly security staff member, setting the tone for what was to come. At reception, a concierge handled our car and escorted us to the spa in a golf buggy. The changing facilities were pristine, complete with robes, pants, towels, and showers. Our treatments lasted about two hours, and in the middle we were given a short break to enjoy champagne by a private pool, which was such a lovely touch!

Afterwards, the golf buggy took us to the main communal area where we had a delightful 3 course meal. The pool area is breathtaking, with a direct path leading to a private beach with beautiful views. We even made friends with a cute dog who added to the experience!

From the exceptional staff to the stunning facilities and surrounding beauty, every detail of this day exceeded expectations. It was hands down one of the best days I’ve ever had. My only regret is not being able to stay longer! I left feeling completely refreshed and inspired. I had high expectations for Fasano Trancoso, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short. While the property is in a stunning, remote location, nearly every other aspect of the stay was disappointing.

The rooms had a strong, unpleasant mildew odor and felt outdated — not at all what you'd expect from a hotel of this supposed caliber. The gym was both dirty and overcrowded. I used it daily and not once did I see it being cleaned or maintained by staff, which is unacceptable from both a hygiene and service standpoint.

The spa, which I had hoped would be a highlight, was a complete letdown. I booked two treatments, both of which were well below average and felt rushed and impersonal. Dining was another huge disappointment. Both lunch and dinner lacked flavor, and prices were unjustifiably high considering the poor quality.

Communication was also a challenge — as a foreign guest, I was surprised to find that almost no one on staff spoke English, which made resolving even small issues unnecessarily difficult.

Most frustrating of all, the extremely high price we paid for our room was in no way reflected in the service or the product we received. For what we paid, we expected excellence — or at the very least, basic standards of cleanliness and comfort.

In summary: aside from the beautiful location, Fasano Trancoso does not live up to the brand name or the cost. I would not recommend it, especially to international travelers expecting a refined,...
