This location is about half an hour from Alto Paraíso, very much in the midst of nature. They have recently built a concrete path that leads up the hill to the location, which I think would allow most (if not all cars) to get to. With the concrete path they built I don't think a 4x4 is necessary. A place to go if you want to truly connect to nature. It is a vegan (with delicious food), ecologically minded space. I spent over a month here and felt revived. There is an array of amenities, a roofed temple space to do yoga and exercises with sufficient equipment, a natural pool to relax, an outdoor shower, a small river and waterfall and a hike up to a 'portal' with a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The space is filled with spots with great views of the valley, and there is enough space within the property for you to be able to pass time alone in nature. The design of the space is quite unique, with a rustic and open architecture that feels very artistic and special, each room has its own personality and care given to it and it is a place with much soul.

An ideal place to fully immerse into nature and the wildness of the jungle. The eco-friendly facilities follow permaculture design and natural building principles, and have incredible lodging options to choose from - including a couple of amazing tree houses! The vegan food served at Mariri is of excellent quality and can be enjoyed while taking in a breathtaking view of the Chapada. A very inspiring place to disconnect and enjoy the sounds of nature. Activities offered range from yoga sessions, Thai massage and sauna to hiking trails, wildlife watching and swimming in waterfalls. The mix of professional staff and volunteers creates a very friendly, warm and relaxed atmosphere that contributes to the overall experience.

No entanto, alguns pontos deixaram a desejar.

We stayed at Mariri Jungle Lodge for 2 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. It's a bit of an adventure to get to - about 4 hours from Brasilia along dirt roads - but you are provided with detailed directions (just don't attempt it in the dark!)||||It's only an hour or so to waterfalls and other features of the national park, but we found it so relaxing that we decided to spend both days at the lodge rather than venturing out in the car (again!) or navigating those dusty roads (not at all relaxing!). We pretty much had the place to ourselves - there are several members of staff, volunteers and art students (we were fortunate enough to arrive just in time for an art exhibition!) but everyone gets on with their own thing and pretty much leaves you to it. ||||There are trails and hikes you can do when you want to stretch you legs, a Swedish sauna and natural water pool. We were impressed by how self-sufficient the place is: their philosophy is anti-waste, pro-nature so the rooms are equipped with a 'dry toilet' which you are responsible for emptying. Much of their produce is grown on site and facilities - such as shower cubicles- built by recycling materials such as glass bottles. ||||We made the most of all that was on offer: Ayurvedic massages, yoga lessons, hikes and of course- nature! There's so much to see, hear and experience- a variety of plant life attracts all sorts of birds and the symphony of bird song is joyous to hear. We were very impressed by our vegetarian meals (Brasil - being famed for its churrasco- doesn't always do 'veggie' very well) and we returned to the city feeling refreshed and...

The place is beautiful and the houses in the trees are amazing. The sound of insects, the birds, very good. But despite the beauty and the good intentions, I felt unwelcome. I think the owner of the place (Mariana) could have canceled my reservation and returned the money, since there were no conditions to receive me. The house has 5 ferocious dogs that advanced, barked and growled, preventing to walk by certain ways of the garden and to arrive near the main house. The residents who were there did not know how to handle the dogs and said that only Mariana, who was not, could introduce us to them and calm them down. Besides, I found strange phrases that I heard when I arrived: "We did not know what time you would arrive, Mari did not warn, the house is not ready" and "we can not clean the pool in time, I regret that it will only be cleaned the day we Leave. " In relation to dinner (vegan and very tasty): When the sun set, we got out of KuraKura and went to the main house to ask about dinner (we made the reservation with dinner and breakfast). When we got close to the house we were surrounded by three huge dogs, who barked, growled and advanced. The girl did not know what to do with them, and called the housekeeper who luckily was close. After much difficulty, we managed to get into the main house. It was when the girl informed us that the car that would bring the cooker had forgotten her in Alto Paraiso and that the dinner would not leave years of the 22h. Bad for us, accustomed to wak up early. Everything seemed rushed, as if we had made the reservation the day before (being that I made the deposit confirming the reservation day 30/7, 15 days before!). In summary, the place is beautiful and of good intentions, but of all my trip to the Chapada, was the only one that did not like to stay. I recommend that those who want to go check if Mariana will be there on the dates...
