Due to the good reviews, the trekking offers and the affordable price I booked Don'Anna for 7 days over New Years. The whole experience exceeded my expectations by far. I cannot rave enough about the amazing hospitality and great spirit of the hosts, Carol's positive energy, her homemade organic breakfast (especially her cakes are to die for), Julio's tours and his patience in helping me overcome my fear of water. There was a pleasantly warm and homely atmosphere which I haven't experienced in a hostel before. For solo travellers it is easy to connect to other guests. Lovely garden for hanging out outside, as well as a number of rooms inside for gathering as well.||||Location: Located in Andaraí, a very charming city in Chapada (which tends to be furthter from other major locations, but transport I believe can be arranged with the owners)||||Services: One of the hostel owners, Julio, can also be hired as a tour guide. Andarai is perfect because it's in the center of the Chapada Diamantina... yet it has almost no tourists ! It's fully authentic, safe and quiet.||||But the best is not the hotel, it's the owners ! Carol makes sure you have anything you need, cooks wonderfully and Julio takes you to anywhere in the region in his 4x4. But he's more than a guide, he knows everything and everybody, and can take you to the quietest lake or the smallest amateur liquor maker! He's great for Film & Photography as well, knowing so many spots and people.||||More than...
