I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. ||We went for the 4 day adventure experience and it was truly awesome. ||Two or three excursions were included each day, including trekking in the rain forest, boat trips out on the Rio negro, canoeing, swimming with pink dolphins, caiman spotting, going to a deserted beach and so much more. There was also plenty of down time to swing in the hammock, swim in the pool and chill out in beautiful surrounds. ||We were collected from our hotel in Manaus, and then transferred back to the hotel at the end, making the whole thing hassle free and easy! ||During our stay, our guide Gabriel was knowledgeable and friendly. All the staff were great! ||The cabin we stayed in was lovely. Three meals a day were included in the price and the food was so tasty. It included lots of authentic Brazilian fair, are they catered for my allergies and dietary requirements excellently. ||Visiting the Amazon rainforest forest was one of the highlights of my life. It was stunningly beautiful, and the wildlife was abundant. I am so pleased I chose Caboclos lodge to do it, they made the experience fantastic, enjoyable and easy from start to finish. ||Thank...
Read moreThis is a ecolodge a 1hr drive and 40 minute boat ride to the lodges from Manaus. We were here - unwittingly- in the dry season so the water level was low - up to 40ft lower than the wet reason so we were unable to go into the creeks on a boat. The accommodation itsself was Spartan so we switched to a chalet which was so much nicer. The temperature was 33-36 degrees so really hot, unbearable at night without fans and air- con. |The issue was with power cuts so it was very dark and very hot. There are many organised activities to do and you have 2-7 night options.|There are boat tips for swimming, to the beach, to watch sunrise and sunset and caiman spotting. The absolute highlight for us was the swimming with the pink dolphins which was an incredible experience. There is an option to see a indigenous village and people which was reportedly very good but we did a an Amazonian medicine workshop which was great as I am medic.|The staff are very helpful but speak only Portuguese so you need an interpreter if you can’t speak the language . The food is home cooked and nice but could be repetitive.|Overall it is a great taster of what the Amazon can offer without...
Read moreI recently got a raise at my job so me, my wife and my kids decided to go for a trip in brazi, a couple of my friends from rio de janeiro said it would be best to avoid places like rio and são paulo because they are full, so i went with amazonas, getting there it was amazing but the problems started when i arrived at this caboclos house, by far the worst place i have ever visited in my whole life, the place reeks like there is something rotting in there, i coudn't sleep because the bed was wet and sticky, my kids got sick on that god forsaken yellow pool, and the music, the awful and obnoxiously loud music taht went until midnight, and that was only the beginning, the prices, they charged me dry, everything was so goddamn expensive in there, the only thing they didn't charge me for was a cup of water, and the crew didn't wanted to speak english with me, the owner acted like we were invading his home, it did not look like an hotel at all, i felt like i was visiting a stranger's house, i wish i had made a better choice and researched more, there are many hotels near that are way cleaner and way more...
