Don't leave anything of value with the hotel staff!!! They stole our passports!!! But we recovered them.
My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel when we had a 20h stopover last month. We left our backpacks at the hotel and put our passports in it assuming it was safer than taking them on a trip through the amazonas area moving through some not so safe areas. The hotel staff led us to the room where they store the clients' luggage in this case. We put the big backpacks and one smaller all next to one another. When we came back to get them one was moved to the right side behind the corner of the cupboard where it was more difficult to spot (maybe out of sight for thr security cameras). At first we didn't think too much about it. But then at the airport when we didn't find our passports in the backpack we became very suspicious. We searched everything and then I called the hotel to ask them for the passports. They said they didn't see them. I got a bit more serious telling him that we both are 100% sure that they were in the backpack; now they're not where they were when we left them with them. I wanted to know who had access to this room. The person on the phone asked me to wait. After a bit of time he came back and told me they "found" my passport and asked me if that's all. I said no, my husbands passport is missing too. They said there was only one. I got a bit more serious and probably then they understood that I'll come with the police if my husbands passport is not "found". Again a few minutes of waiting on the phone and then they "found" my husbands passport as well. What a surprise! I left the airport, raced to the taxis, to the hotel and got our passports, raced back to the airport and actually made it to our flight after that record sprint! We both thought a long time if we shall report the hotel but as we left shortly after that and don't even speak any Portuguese we decided not to report them (for now). But we felt obliged to share our shocking experience with the hotel staff so that others don't suffer the same UNBELIEVABLE treatment. Be very careful if...
Read moreWe arrived at this hotel after having had an especially rough past 24 hours and just needed a room to clean up and recharge for the day before flying home. This place was a breath of fresh air and really turned our mood around right away. The two young women at the front desk were incredibly kind and were able to offer us a room just for the day at a good price, as well as some waters and local candies. They really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, especially after hearing about the day we’d had. Everyone spoke English fairly well (rare from out experience in Manaus and very appreciated!). The lobby is really nice and has drinks, snacks, and even some games, which gave us a good place to hang out for the day. The room was small but clean and very comfortable. Other staff were also helpful in getting us a taxi to the airport at a very late hour. Overall a great hotel and highly recommended for anyone looking to stay near the airport. Thank you for...
Read moreWe needed a day-room between disembarking from our cruise ship and our flight very early the next morning, and this hotel had all we needed: a well air conditioned room, a good restaurant, and close proximity to the airport. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and the staff friendly and accommodating (though Google Translate helped immensely, too). The food was quite good and very reasonable. They called a cab for us at midnight, and one arrived within 10 minutes. We were at the airport 10 minutes after that. Others from our cruise opted to just wait in the airport for the 15 hours, but it was very poorly air conditioned and they told us they...
