Everything Freddy and Mary have to offer is beyond amazing. First of all, the pousada is perfect. All is clean, organized, well distributed... just impeccable. One can see this was done with German gründlichkeit. Secondly, the people are amazing. Friendly, warm-hearted and open. Anything you want when you visit an island you don't know in Brazil. Third, the location is next to the best beaches and chiringuitos. We travelled in July, which makes is the low season, something we loved... amazing weather, no loud music, no traffic, a massive beach with white sand and calm water just for yourselves. Our experience as a couple was 10 out of 10. Oh and Freddy speaks German...

Pousada Tropicalia is my secret get-a-way from the bustling city of Salvador Bahia. After my business is done in Salvador I take the 45 min ferry ride to the peace and calm of Itaparica Island. This beachfront pousada has clean rooms, great beds, good food and the perfect ambiance for me to catch up on my rest. I love waking up in the morning and taking a nice jog on the secluded beach during our (USA) summer months of July and August.
