We come here for dinner nearly ever night. We are so thankful to have finally found quality, well prepared, delicious food!
FOOD: The beef is thick and cooked to perfection, with very delicious vegetables and sauce.
The salad is fresh, lightly dressed and full of flavor.
The fish with shrimp is so delicious with the pesto risotto. The fish is a thick filet cooked perfectly and the shrimp shells are removed AND the shrimp are deveined! I’ve had a lot of shrimp dishes over the passed couple months traveling in Brazil and this is the first time I’ve gotten deveined shrimp.
DRINKS: The Capiroskas are refreshing, cold and well blended and we really like the Malbec wine.
ENVIRONMENT: This is a small Posada Restaurant like many of the restaurants here in Macapa. It is on a big raised deck mostly blocked from the wind. Everything is clean and kept up very well. There is a very welcoming casual kite vibe. There are some card or board games to play while waiting, and a kite shop with T-SHIRTS 🎉 boards, harnesses, bars, hats etc.
The chef and the waitress Anna are very personable and take great care of their guests. They both speak English and it has been very nice to get the food we want and not lose anything to Google Translate.
There is a very lovable dog named Pipoca 💕and we usually see an really cool owl in the driveway during our walk in/out.
It’s hard to want to go anywhere...
Read moreI’m so happy I stumbled upon 35 Knots! It’s an amazing place to stay if you’re into kitesurfing or just looking for a relaxing getaway. Boris, the owner, really adds a personal touch to the experience. He knows so many people in the area—kitesurfing schools, local restaurants,... On top of that, he’s a great kitesurfing instructor himself, which is super handy if you’re just starting out or want to improve your skills. Boris organized a comfortable night bus from the airport, allowing me to get some sleep. He also invited me on a day trip to a stunning river delta, where we cruised through Amazon-like scenery, spotting crocodiles and monkeys, and ended the day kiting from a dune.
The place itself feels really welcoming. There’s a nice swimming pool to cool off in, and the beach is just a short walk away. What also makes it special is that Boris takes care of dinner himself. His cooking is fantastic, and the spaghetti—made completely from scratch, including the pasta—is something I’ll never forget.
As for kitesurfing, the spot is incredible. There’s a lagoon and the open sea, so you can pick whatever suits your vibe or skill level. Even though there are only a few schools, the kiting scene here is super active, and you’ll always see people out on the water.
All in all, it’s a great place to stay. I had a wonderful time and would recommend...
Read moreOutstanding pousada close to Macapa Praiha! The rooms and chalets are just lovely, clean and cozy (very high standard), the gardens and pool area are beautifully kept and relaxing, the paddle tennis field is great fun, there are several swings and a slack line available for use at any time, the breakfast is all you could ask for and the host Boris and his entire team work relentlessly to perfect your stay. Besides, 35knots runs its own restaurant at night which provides probably the best culinary experience in town. We stayed there for 3 weeks with an entire group of kite surfers and found it hard to leave this place which really felt like a home base to us! Big thanks to...
