Pousada Tankamana — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Petrópolis

We just came back from our second stay at Tankamana in less than two months. I'm Brazilian and live in Rio, and I find Tankamana maybe the best option for a short break from the city - a super convenient 2-hours drive to find refuge in this gorgeous nature on the tropical Mata Atlantica. After having spent a couple of days end of December at this beautiful chalet in the middle of nature, we needed to come back the minute we checked out.||||This time we stayed at the chalé Tanka, their best suite/chalét - and were enchanted. A spacious, luxurious chalé with two fireplaces, an immense modern hot tub, an outdoor shower and a huge terrace, totally secluded from all other chalets and facilities. Everything in perfect privacy, yet close to the swimming pool and the main restaurant.||||We can't forget how welcomed we were by the excellent staff and their dedication to get out of their way to make guests feel at home and taken care of all your needs and wishes.||||Radamés, the main manager, is always present and ready to do anything to make all guests happy - e he was perfect. Everyone there is really eager to make you happy, like Taís and Maria ( on reception) and Bruno in the restaurant, congrats. ||||We can't forget the absolutely delicious breakfast! Everything you could ask for, with Brazilian delicacies and home made breads and jellies, among so many delicious treats ( like the “pão de queijo” Waffle as well as the mini fruit-pancakes.)||||Oh, and for the movie lovers, there’s also a private Cinema Room in the main building that you can rent, enjoy some movie classics and munch popcorn.||||We can't...

Frequentamos o Tankamana há 27 anos! |Acreditamos ser um lugar especial, onde desconectamos da cidade e estamos em contato direto com a natureza. |Estivemos no hotel nesse último final de semana (26 a 28 de setembro).|Quanta diferença das idas anteriores!| |O Chalé 13 foi modificado, a lareira, antes grande e de frente para a cama, foi substituída por uma muito pequena. Pedimos para o rapaz acender o fogo, e o fogo durou uns 5 minutos no máximo! |Colocaram uma luz branca na parede em frente à cama, onde está a TV. Ou a luz fica ligada, ou a TV. A luz é extremamente fria, não cria um ambiente aconchegante.|As amenities do banheiro, antes deixadas para os hóspedes, dessa vez inexistiam! Sem hidratante, algodão ou cotonetes. Somente aqueles recipientes enormes de shampoo, condicionador e sabonete. |Ao redor do Ofurô, antes deixavam toalhas e uma vela, dessa vez nada! Pedi toalhas e de tanto esperar, tive de ir à recepção buscar, pois o Ofurô iria ficar com a água fria!|À noite fomos jantar. |Um capítulo à parte, pois sempre a pousada primava pela qualidade do atendimento e pela comida.|Fomos atendidos por um garçon que colocou nosso vinho em todas as taças possíveis, menos nas taças devidas! Misturou o vinho branco com água, não tinha noção de como servir uma mesa. E não estamos falando de um bar na rua e sim de um restaurante que cobra caro em uma Pousada igualmente cara! Era de se esperar um serviço à altura!|O rapaz que o acompanhava, talvez o gerente, não tinha uma adequação para um ambiente fino. Ele parecia estar com aquela roupa desde manhã cedo!|Pedimos um couvert, sofrível!|Também optamos por um fondue (que sempre foi maravilhoso).|Os acompanhamentos pareciam ter sido requentados algumas vezes na gordura, incomíveis! Que decepção!|Ficamos no Tankamana para não ter de pegar o carro e sair, mas na noite seguinte fomos jantar em outro lugar pois não queríamos repetir a decepção da noite anterior.||No dia seguinte, após o café da manhã (bom e variado) fomos para a piscina natural. |Ao que nos parece, as espreguiçadeiras não são limpas há anos! Que tristeza. Um lugar tão único e bonito, sem cuidado, completamente à mercê.|Ficamos extremamente decepcionados.|O caminho para o café da manhã no sábado tinha lixo, plásticos espalhados. No domingo o mesmo lixo, ou seja, ninguém viu, ninguém se preocupou em limpar.|Falta ao Tankamana um bom gerente, como na época da Terezinha, do Danilo, da Laís. Eles estavam sempre atentos aos mínimos detalhes, a como fazer com que nos sentíssemos especiais, atendiam prontamente nossos pedidos. |Caminhamos pelas trilhas lindas da Pousada, e encontramos lixeiras horrorosas vermelhas, em total desarmonia com a floresta. Antigamente, as lixeiras eram de madeira, quase mimetizadas ao ambiente.|Saímos do Tankamana tristes, desejando que essa situação se modifique, pois o lugar é Único, um presente em meio à natureza e merece um staff à altura, principalmente um gerente atento e...

The Tankamana is a five star hotel (in my opinion). Imagine yourself in a place inside the forest, in an absolute tranquility, with a rustic ambiance and architecture, and at the same time a place when you enjoy a refined restaurant with an elegant wine list, and a comfortable spacious room with all kinds of pampering things. So, if you are looking for a very romantic place, you find it.| I had stayed there in a room that had a king size bed, an ofurô or a jacuzzi baths (I went there three times in different accommodations), an very beautiful bathroom, and a large balcony with a delightful viewpoint of the forest.| The hotel common places are incredible. A heated pool surrounded by a green hill. In an other unimaginable place you will see a sauna with a direct connection with a cold natural water of a little lake. A last thing: the breakfast serving works until that last guest goes there. You really can wake up the time you want.| In summary amazing in...
