We stayed at the Pousada for 20 nights and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The owner and her staff are very nice and friendly, and perfect hosts. We were well looked after. The breakfast was each day superb with bahian specials to discover. The pousada is set in a lush tropical garden with splendid views on the near river and the sea. We had an accommodation with sea view, at night there is every evening a thousand stars to discover! To the beach it's a 20 min leisurely walk through a wonderful scenery of palm trees, wild jasmine etc! There are huts on the beach which serve nice food and ice cold beer. |Diogo itself is a nice little village with a few nice restaurants and friendly locals. But with a car it's only a 5 min drive to imbassai or 15 min to Praia do forte, which boasts lots of restaurants. |The pousada is very quiet all day long and especially after around 8pm as it is not frequented by outsiders which makes it very exclusive and perfect for a quiet and relaxing vacation! |If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing and absolute perfect vacation in Brazil, then go...
Read moreWe got advised to go here by a hostel owner in (touristy) Praia do Forte, which turned out the best advised we'd received on our entire trip in Brazil. We ended up inviting some friends who were travelling in the area and stayed three nights at first, and another one after driving north and having to return south again.||The bungalows/cottages have this great holiday feeling you can only get when you're staying at a quiet yet beautiful place; being woken up by birds, opening your doors to your porch overlooking the river and enjoying a brilliant breakfast are just a few things you get.||Even though the beach is at a 30 min walk I guarantee it's the most astonishing walk to a beach you'll ever make, having to wade through a small river, climb the white sand dunes and cross an open white desert-like area before reaching the tropical beach. (there's also a bridge at another 10 min walk but why bother..). The beach was completely deserted with plenty of coconuts lying around to quench your thirst.||Truly an amazing place, highly...
Read moreI was a guest at the same time last year and stayed at the same room. A new hammock was added to the veranda, the air conditioning is new and noiseless. The staff has been there for 10 years and the same standards of cleanliness and honesty are kept. I was leaving my IPAD behind and the cleaning lady caught me as my taxi was about to leave. We had a charming Christmas eve with delicious stuffed turkey, grilled fish, whole rice and two different salads + local live music. Beers are always colder than elsewhere and a good sample of caipirinhas are prepared on the spot with local fruits. Breakfast is a must. Fruits and juices are accompanied by different tapiocas dishes, cakes and eggs. English and French are spoken and Sophie, our kind host, is able to address...
