This eco pousada is beautifully set back 300m from the ocean. The overall decor, bungalows, and vegetation is stunning and relaxing. The pool is the perfect spot to spend the hot afternoons, with lots of shade for lounging and reading. The restaurant has very good local food and an extensive cocktail/wine list. We stayed here just after Carnival 2016, and the friendly staff (reception, bar, restaurant) really make one's sejour completely stress free. Unfortunately, the owner/manager Marcello needs a crash course in guest hospitality. In addition to pontificating over evening caiparihnas (at least 8 of then) like some windbag philospher queen, he refused to accept responsibility for, or make any commercial gesture towards the fact that both my partner and I got food poisoning from eating mochequa for two on the last night from his restaurant. What I find particularly galling (I can take the drunken tirades, which I found quite amusing) is his total refusal to accept responsibility for food poisoning of his guests. As I live in Paris, I would accept this kind of rude behaviour from a Hotel manager, but not on a holiday in Brazil! Would gladly return if Marcello can be kept away from guests or hauled off to the Betty...
Read moreI ate dinner at this eco pousada with my wife and two friends. The first impression of the site, the grounds and the restaurant is quite favorable, inviting and pretty. thus I would encourage others to read other reviews about the rooms , as i will stick to the restaurant. ||||The drinks and wine list is ample and the service explanation and high lights of the menu given by are server were exemplary. I chose an octopus salad accompanied by a cool to perfection Chilean Chardonnay the bread and cheese appetizer was a perfect starter and the creme de papia with Cassis a traditional desert was perfect.||||Not to be outdone our guests had a delightful tender melt in your mouth yellow fish with mustard sauce (of which I stole a piece and can therefor testify to its excellence :-)||||My overall impression was of excellence and relief that since the closure of the prior best restaurant in Imbassai ( tres Marias) we now have a restaurant that is up to the same high standard if less extensive menu. well worth the trouble to...
Read moreWe loved Vilagelim. We recently spent 6 nights in chale 15 and are already looking forward to returning. The chales are spread throughout the beautifully landscaped property and feel quite private. The buildings are simple yet elegant. The pool area is wonderful and the pool is large enough that you can swim in it. Breakfast was a high point of the day. We also ate a lunch and a couple of dinners in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Staff are charming and professional. The overall vibe is of peace and quiet.|Imbassai is a lovely low key resort village with about a half dozen restaurants serving delicious food. Houses and pousadas are one and two storeys tall. We walked everywhere and appreciated the paved sidewalks.|The beach is about 500 metres from the pousada. It was relatively lively on the weekend but very quiet during the week. The waves pound the beach so it's wise to go at low tide when the sea is much calmer. On our next visit we will walk north to Praia Santo Antonio where the sea is said...
