We have made several trips to Jost Van Dyke and will continue to visit again in the future. We have stayed in other villas while alone or with another couple and we have rented bigger homes with bigger groups. The Hideout will be our go to when it is just us or us and another couple.

First off, location, location, location. Right on White Bay, the most beautiful beach in all of the Caribbean, you will find The Hideout’s villas. Just a few steps from our beachfront villa was the water. The beautiful, crystal clear water. A few steps away is Hendo’s Hideout (do not miss Thursday night sushi) where you can grab a snack, drink, or a great meal (the fresh catch, ceviche, and wings are some favs) . Just past Hendo’s is the world famous Soggy Dollar Bar (now with a coffee and breakfast bar, too) for a painkiller. There are several other local bars within a 2 minute walk - please take the time to support all of them and get to know these wonderful people. Food and drinks… everywhere.

OK, back to the villa. The Indonesian style buildings are beautiful. Very high-quality at every detail from the building materials to the furniture to the linens and toiletries. The room is charming, well stocked, and comfortable. Opening the deck doors to look into the bay is a view that will never get old. Someone should write a song about this piece of heaven on Earth. Watching the overnight guests in White Bay, the day trippers from the other BVIs, and the small tour ships is a great way to spend some time. You can do this from your chair or the plunge pool. Ahhhh.

There is a great area downstairs too, fitted with chairs, a sofa, and the sounds of waves crashing. Todd will even fill your cooler with ice to keep your Carib or Red Stripe ice cold. We were even treated to a coconut being picked and cut open for the freshest coconut water possible. Amazing.

The grounds are beautiful as well. The team is adding some more amenities, and knowing what they have done in other areas, I am sure it will be outstanding like everything else. Also, the Wi-Fi on the island is much improved these days… you can stream your favorite music or shows… and even check those work emails and Zoom calls if you must.

One of the things that makes us keep going back to Jost is our “island family”. We have made friendships with several of the staff at the bars and restaurants. They are just wonderful people. We are glad to say that Nadia and Todd and the rest of the staff are now part of that family. Their tireless efforts to make everything perfect was so very special. While I would like to think of us as low maintenance on vacation, they were there for everything we needed. I am sure they would be the same for the more demanding of guests. They take pride in The Hideout and the work they do.

The Hideout was the perfect place to spend a week on the most perfect island. 5...

We stayed at The Hideout from November 10 - 15 in the Harmony hut. Overall, it was a great vacation. The hut was extremely clean (thank you, Pauline!) and spacious. Each room had its own thermostat, which was great, as we all like different temperatures. ||The living room area had a table and chairs, as well as a sofa and two arm chairs. In addition, the adjoining kitchen had bar stools. Plenty of seating if you are there with a large group in multiple huts. TVs have satellite and all the channels you would want.||Bedrooms are awesome! The most comfortable beds and high quality linen. Each bedroom had its own bathroom with walk-in shower. The bedrooms also have a large walk-in closet.||Kitchen is very nice. Full fridge, range top, microwave, pots, pans, glasses, and silverware. There is also a Keurig that is restocked daily. ||The views from the Harmony hut were incredible. The whole side of the place consists of glass doors, so you get great views of the ocean. This view is really best at Harmony and two of the other huts. ||The deck does have table, chairs, lounge chairs, and a plunge pool. It truly is just a plunge pool though.... very small.||The lower level of the hut has a big seating area and that is also where they replace your beach towels everyday. There is a walkway to the beach where there are reserved beach chair and umbrellas waiting for you. ||The other nice thing is that you can call the front desk whenever you want a taxi. It is best to do that because the price will be lower than if you call a taxi on your own. ||As for the beach and ocean....keep in mind that I'm used to staying on St John. I was surprised at all of the boats in White Bay. You can be swimming in the ocean and a boat will pull up to the beach right next to you. That was frustrating at times, but not the fault of Hendo's.....White Bay just doesn't seem to regulate the boats. ||All in all, great vacation and I would...

We were fortunate to stay at The Hideout for 7 nights. From start to end we had the time of our lives! We found The Hideout on a day trip to JVD last year and couldn't wait to stay for a week! We were worried it would be too long and ended up not being long enough! The hotel staff and staff at Hendos restaurant are five stars all the way! The villas are amazing. We had a partial ocean view room and still had a fabulous view of white bay! I had massages on the beach and the ocean spa. Both massages were amazing! We ate out three nights at Foxy's, Ivan's and Spice (the amazing restaurant at Soggy Dollar at night) and while they were all great we loved just having relaxing dinners at Hendos with our favorite bartenders. From 11-3 it does get very crowded with day trippers, but after 3 it's like you have a private island. The only two things that could improve would be to have the plunge pools heated. They were too cold for this Florida girl! The other is the beach chairs for resort only guests were often being used by day trippers that would just plop their belongings down and use the beds for the day. I wish they would rope them off or at least monitor them several times during the day. We are a well traveled couple that have been fortunate to travel the globe and we can't wait to return to The Hideout! I hate writing such a glorious review as would love to keep it to ourselves, but the staff deserve to hear how fabulous they are and cannot wait to be a guest there again as soon as possible!! Many thanks to all that made this a trip...

Just: wow. Hugely exceeded my expectations! Came here over Christmas for a few days with family and couldn’t have been more impressed. These are individual villas - right on the beach and next to the Soggy Dollar. Small, intimate resort. The rooms/villas are new, very spacious and fully equipped. Great AC, has a fridge, small sitting area with TV and a keurig coffee maker. Best part - the deck over looks the water and has a small plunge pool as well as sun loungers. You can’t be disappointed. The restaurant/bar is excellent too and has a rotating menu so not the same thing every day (loved the steak, pad thai and garlic bread). Great drinks too and their Painkillers still use Pussers rum (unlike some other places in the area!) The island is small but the staff are so kind and happy to help book taxis to other parts of the island or the ferry terminal. If you don’t come by boat, best to fly to EIS (Tortola airport) and take a taxi to the West End, where the Jost Van Dyke ferry is. Ultimately, the photos don’t do it justice and it’s generally an incredibly luxurious experience. I immediately described the rooms as ‘honeymoon suites’ when I arrived so definitely a fantastic option whether a getaway with your other half or friends etc. Missing it already - thanks to all at The Hideout for a great few days 😊

This place is an absolutely gorgeous gem! Why go here? #1 The staff are extremely helpful with any questions or needs that might arise #2 The view! Sheesh, it's gorgeous. #3 It's a blast during the day and VERY quiet by 9p at night. Our sleep was amazing. #4 It's comfortable. The room warmth, and the beds and the plunge pool balcony made it so comfy! #5 The privacy. There are only 7 huts, so it feels very much like it's all yours. #6 The beach loungers. Reserved for Hideout guests only. It's so nice, especially when cruise ships or rented yacht excursioners show up. #7 The beach itself. White Bay is very hard to beat when it comes to beautiful beaches. #8 Hendo's Hideout Restaurant and Bar. The food was delicious. We didn't go anywhere else for 4 days. Get the Thursday night Sushi! Wow!!! #9 The Island Hikes. Unbelievable views from high points on the island. Goats galore. Mongoose galore. So much fun! #10 Soggy Dollar Bar. A top tourist attraction in BVI is right next door! Actually, don't go. We want this hidden gem for ourselves! The Hideout is a no-brainer.

Just returned from a trip to Jost Van Dyke and stayed at the new luxury resort, The Hideout, built by the owners of Hendo's Hideout restaurant. Can not say enough about this fabulous place! No detail overlooked, both in the accommodations and the service. We stayed in a one bedroom oceanfront villa that was just beautiful and had everything you could need. The service we received from Regie, Pauline & Andre was top shelf! Pauline was so sweet making sure we had dark coffee for each day! Drinks & the food at Hendo's restaurant also does not disappoint, and our bartenders & waitresses were also wonderful. This place is a gem and has a special place in our hearts as a vacation destination - and honestly, if I could stay I would!!
