Ke Villas — Hotel in Tortola

3 months after a 14 day stay at KeVillas, and we, an international couple (Nina and Kevin) from Scandinavia and the US, still can't stop thinking about BVI and KeVillas!

What beautiful memories we made there, which, most importantly, we have the people at Ke Villas to thank for. The BVIs are so much more than just a place to go to the beach and have pina coladas; underneath the seemingly uncomplicated tropical leisure, hides a treasure trove of authentic life experiences and truely heart-warm and life-smart people. Experiences that quickly become point-of-no-return experiences for you if you are brave enough to embrace them. The act of being present in heart, body and soul has been forgotten in most places, but here. And we experienced all of that in what became OUR heart and home of the BVIs: Ke Villas.

There are so many little details that KeVillas pays attention to that create an unforgettable experience. From personally catering to your needs (be it laundry, breakfast, cleaning, transportation, printing service, advice... all of it is done from the owner and his family!), to providing such a fantastic view, to having cozy yet modern rooms (with A++ air conditioning!)... all packaged with an affordable price? What's not to like? Not to forget the things you cannot get with money: good stories, humor aplenty, and a feeling of being home.

In addition... did we mention that they have an expansive garden nearby? If you order breakfast, all the fruits and vegetables will be taken from their garden to your plate! Moreover, if you are lucky you may get a personal tour of this very garden! Javan (our inkeeper) was so knowledgeable about all his plants and their properties, it was so exciting and inspiring to touch, see, and learn so much in a few hours about the plants of the BVIs.

When we were leaving, Javan, personally drove us back to the airport, made sure that everything was okay, gave us a hug, and waved us goodbye.

Thank you, Javan, for everything. Nina and I will be back soon to partake in your social warmth...

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Gerry, the manager, made sure all our needs were met. He helped us with directions, Tortola tips, and he even provided a clothes drying rack so we could rinse out our bathing suits. We stayed in a one bedroom unit on the ground floor for easy unloading of luggage. We had a partial ocean view due to the beautiful flower bushes. The upper floors probably provide a better ocean view. We had a two burner electric stove, small fridge, microwave, small coffee maker,and kitchen cutlery and dishes. The AC worked, there was plenty of hot water for the shower which was a large walk in. The bathroom sink and toilet was on either side of the shower in separate spaces. We also had a small dining table with chairs and closet area with shelves and hangers. The only drawback was, there was no bureau. The patio had a table and chairs for outside meals. The Villas were quiet, and lush with banana trees, a herb garden, and a rooster and hen and her chicks as well as two cats. The views from the bar/restaurant were beautiful with sunsets and rolling waves. The Villas are near Sopers Hole and the West End ferry making it easy to go to Jost Van Dyke as well as the market in Sopers Hole. Driving is a challenge on steep, winding roads that are narrow. The Villas can pick you up at the airport and arrange a rental car. Maid service is provided daily with plenty of fresh towels. Renting a car is recommended and it takes a while to get used to the roads, but the views...

I visited Carrot Bay in June of 2023 after hoping and planning and trying for years. I had planned the trip for 2022 and had to cancel my reservations at Ke Villas because I got Covid. Ke Villas cancelled my room and never charged me. I was so grateful for their quick response. When I arrived in June 2023 I loved everything about Ke Villas. My room was so close to the beach I could hear the waves pounding with the door shut and the air conditioning on. I had a large room that included a kitchen, a table and chairs, and a bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. I had a porch, a calabash tree, coconut trees, and more flowers than I could count. There is something of a jungle in the back yard, and in the evening I could listen to jungle sounds. They have a cafe with an ocean view where I had my breakfast. The owner often joined me for chats and for walks around the property, where he told me all about his trees, his garden, various treasures (brain coral, for instance!), and Sage Mountain, which is behind the property. I loved everything...
