We stayed at this wonderful guest house which was recommended by our Bulgarian friends. It is near to the ski resort in the Dobrinishte mountains. The guest house itself is run by a lovely family who were very welcoming and went out of their way to ensure that our holiday was a wonderful experience. ||||The rooms were lovely and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable (something I have never experienced before on holiday!). The food was lovely and if there was anything we did not like, then the owners would go out of their way to accommodate our requests - I am vegetarian and I was made lovely homemade vegetarian meals every day. ||||We went to Dobrinshte for the skiing - this is a fraction of the cost compared to next door Bansko. The town is typically Bulgarian and it is where most of the locals tend to go skiing due to the significant price difference between Dobrinishte and neighbouring Bansko! A car is essential because the drive to the mountains for the skiing range is about a 20 minute drive, however, this was quite hairy at times due to the snow and ice on the steep hill. You therefore need to be a confident and competent driver. The slopes are excellent for beginners. Also, if you stay at the guest house you get discounts off of local attractions. For example; the local spa, ski pass, ski hire etc. This made our holiday extremely cheap.||||We went to Bansko for the day and this was much more 'touristy'. Dobrinishte, was much more the 'real' Bulgaria. I also imagine that it is very beautiful in the summer walking up the picturesque mountain.||||This is our first skiing holiday as a family and we loved it so much that we are going to come back next year. I would therefore definitely recommend this guest house...
Read moreThis not an ordinary hotel, this is a place where you feel at home. Great people are the whole family: bache Todor and his wife, Lory and Vlady! We had a great time during our ski vacation. Home made food, very cozy atmosphere, clean rooms with nice view to Pirin mountain! They have a restaurant only for their guests! After everyday at the ski resort we were going either to the public baths( this is the social hub of Dobrinishte) where you will experience the old way of going to the baths( two sections - man and woman and you should be naked) or to the Alpha SPA ( modern swimming pool with sauna and steam bath). Reasonable prices including breakfast and dinner. My recommendation is...
Read moreThe Guest Houde "Bache Todor" is one of the best places I have visited in Bulgaria! It's cosy, comfortable, family and biker friendly. The rooms are great and the beds are very comfortable. ||The food is amazing! Although it might look like there's no very big variety, the very friendly owners and staff are going to prepare everything you want and the way you want it! The breakfast is always delicious and A LOT and so is the dinner. ||When you are entering Dobrinishte you can see a big lighted sign that reads "Bache Todor" and finding the place is extremely easy if you are...
