Just had a wonderful week at Sol Luna Bay (August). Pros: the room - 2303; overlooking the sea, family suite of two twin beds, bathroom, lounge area and two small doubles pushed together in the main room. Fridge in the room. Perfect for a family of four. We never struggled to get a table for dinner or a sunbed even though it is the height of summer. Beach is lovely soft sand. Another MASSIVE pro - the staff work tirelessly to keep the place clean. Food is pretty predictable in the main buffet restaurant for an all inclusive; huge range of salads, well labelled, fried beige food the kids love and a variety of meat and fish. The Bulgarian restaurant is incredible. Delicious food like BBQ'd meats, flatbread, dips and fresh veg, all served on traditional Bulgarian crockery. None of the restaurants offer table service - all help yourself. Ice-cream, drinks and snacks always available from the many bars. Evening entertainment was mixed - magician was amazing!!!! Cons: it can be quite windy so the watersports are often not running and you can't swim in the sea (relaxing/paddling is fine but not going further out). Breakfast is especially chaotic in the morning between 9 and 10, and at lunch between 1-2pm - avoid it if you can. The gym is ok but contains aging equipment that is possibly unsafe, and other guests allowing their kids to run on the treadmill in flip-flops or bare feet despite 18+ rule. Not policed. The clientele at this hotel is mainly European - not many English people which is quite refreshing except we did find a lot of the guests were quite rude; barging you out of the way at mealtimes and pushing in front when you're queueing. Possibly our English politeness but I doubt it. If you venture into Obzor go with low expectations - it's fine but not as nice as the resort. Top tips: 1. Go to the bar behind the waterpark up the hill. You'll need cash but drinks are very reasonable and the views are fab. We spent a couple of afternoons here reading and it was so peaceful. 2. Book the Bulgarian and Italian restaurants for dinner rather than going to the main restaurant. Less chaotic. 3. Watch the evening entertainment from Level 1 balcony - you'll be able to see much better and can easily disappear if it's not for you! Overall a fantastic stay and the staff were honestly great, would recommend.

Family with 2 kids (9 and 1). We’ve been here 5 times in the past 7 years and this place never let us down. The level of service has been constant and high. Location is perfect, in a bay with pine trees effectively coming down to the sea. The beach is wide, clean, nice sand and the sea is clean, warm and most of the time quiet. Security is professional, with guards on the beach, parking lots. There are also lifeguards on the beach and pools, doing the job professionally. Food is excellent, with several restaurants and for any taste, congrats to the chef. You can find an endless variety and I honestly do not believe that one can not find something for his/her own taste. Drinks in different bars, effectively on the beach, so for sure you will not be thirsty. Animation during the day ( for sure there is something to do for everyone, kids and adults alike) and in the evening this year was at a high level, with quality shows, well done. My son and I enjoyed the waterpark very much, especially the green slide, my favourite. For those more daring, you can try different watersports, but this is extra fee. The only thing I would pay more attention to is degrading furniture and sanitary. The first time we were here the hotel was almost new. You can see the time passing, hotel management should pay attention to this important detail. Last, but not least, the staff. I believe everyone tries their best and they are nice. All in all, I rcommend Sol Luna Bay Resort to any family with kids, I honestly do not think you can find a better place in this range.

Sol Luna bay resort provided us with an amazing holiday and we would definitely recommend!! Where to start with this review?... couldn't fault it from start to finish. Reception staff were always welcoming and cheerful. Room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean. Comfy beds Balcony was a godsend for drying out swimming stuff over night. Restaurants serving a wide range of foods...salads, cold meats, cheeses, various cooked meats, vegetables, soup, many different fruits, breads, cereals, chips, pizza, desserts and more I'm bound to have forgotten. All cooked fresh and tasting delicious. The lobby bars cocktail and mocktail menu is a must try. Swimming pools, clean and a welcome cool down from the heat, add the fact the hotel is right on the beach and you're well away. The water park was a great hit, slides for all levels of confidence. The entertainment team, Animation, put on great shows every night and do a wide range of activities to entertain not only young children but teenagers and adults too. One particular lady, Trayana, made a big impact on us as a family with the way she took our nervous daughter under her wing. What struck us the most was how clean and tidy the whole place was, the cleaning team are on the go all day, continuously sweeping up in the restaurants, cleaning loos, cleaning rooms and sweeping away sand throughout the day insideandout, then when guests are relaxing in the evening the soak away drains around the pools are being hosed down and the sun loungers are being wiped down.

Sol luna Bay Obzor - side building

First impression 1.They asked for money upfront for the whole period for car parking, 10 leva per day. They gave candy without asking to a 1 and a 3 years old. They did not have any beach towels left at 16.00 although the towel hours were until 18.00. We had to go to the reception and pusg them a bit to get a couple of towels but we still wasted about 30 mins.

The good 1.The sand is soft and clean. The water is slowly getting deeper. There are more than plenty sunbeds. You can still eat in the cantine after closing time. They have kids shows every day between 20:30-21:00. They have 3 restaurants a la carte where the food is better and also the experience compared to the cantine. The rooms are very large. You can find food/snacks somewhere in the resort all day long. They have an omnipresent animation team that is always doing some sort of entertaining.

The bad The hotel halls around the cantine smell like piss which is something that disgusted me. The apartment has a sofa with literally a sponge over it, with a sheet almost big enough to cover it. You need to pay for the safe in the room. The rooms are not very clean and they don't clean them daily, all they did was to change towels and fold the blanket on the beds. For us they changed the sheets only one time in 12 nights. Also they do not clean the bathroom AT ALL. Our toilet smelled really bad. We had ants in our room. There are plenty of untrimmed fields around the hotel that triggered my allergies due to lots of pollen. I asked at the reception for toilet paper since it was not refilled in my room and they said to wait 3 hours so I had to go and grab tissues from the bar. Many if not most of the employees are kids under 18 that barely if at all speak english. We had to go to the reception to ask for toilet paper 2 times. One time they did not give us so I asked the reception to have 2 rolls in my room, and in our last night room service took the toilet paper rolls back so we had to go to the reception again to ask for toilet paper.

The average The food is decent, not good quality nor bad. The food diversity is decent: 2 types of meat, 5-6 side dishes, bread and sugar station The beer feels very soft and also the wine. The wine did not give us any side effects. All other booze seemed...

Spent 10 days here in August. 2 adults, 2 kids (7 and 11). Good value for the money we paid. To make the review easy to reference I'll stick to the main points:||Location|90 mins from airport. Quite secluded. Can't really walk anywhere apart from Obzor. |Straight into it's own beach which is lovely. Very clean. One of the best seas I've ever been in. ||Room|Very impressed. 2 adults and 2 kids in separate bedroom, plus sofa in a living area and balcony. Room service everyday, very clean, mini fridge stocked for use once (you have to pay to get it refilled)||Food and drink|Overall really good quality and good variety. Available throughout the day in main restaurant and snack bars. Ice creams are awesome. Whippy cones and also lollies and proper ice creams all included|Nice variety of alcoholic and mocktails (photo attached)||Hotel|Clean, regularly saw loads of cleaners and grounds people tending to it and the pools. |It is however absolutely massive. By far the biggest we've been to. Mealtimes are extremely busy in the main restaurant. |Queues all the time, not relaxing in the slightest. Breakfast in particular is very busy. |Staff do a good job keeping it all topped up and running as smooth ad possible.|Much preferred the Bulgarian and Italian restaurants which you book on site. No limit to how many times. Far far quieter and delicious food. ||General positives overall ||Good value for money|Clean|Nice food and drink|Good evening entertainment (although note it's on a 1 week cycle, so if you are here longer it repeats) ||General negatives||Hotel in general is just too busy for me. Can't mark them down for this as I was part of the numbers here, merely an observation. ||Smoke. God help me. Can mark them down for this. There are signs all over saying no smoking which are blatantly ignored by 99% of people here (vast majority appear Romanian). Irritated me staff don't do anything to enforce and frankly breathing in smoke whilst eating my meal outside isn't something I particularly liked, so we ate indoors most of the time. Either enforce it or take the signs down. ||Overall-beautiful scenery, nice hotel, nice food, just very busy and let down slightly by the incessant smoke. If you can put this minor gripe aside it's a great...
