Mentor Resort — Hotel in Hadzhidimovo

I recently had the opportunity to stay at this resort, and while there were some positive aspects, there were also a few notable disappointments.

Firstly, the staff's treatment of us as foreigners left much to be desired. Their lack of friendliness and understanding was disheartening, and it seemed as though our status as foreigners played a role in their attitude towards us.

Additionally, I was taken aback when I ordered a mojito and was charged the full price despite it being served without mint. It's disheartening to encounter such oversights in service, especially when it comes to the accuracy of billing.

One of the most frustrating experiences was their unwillingness to rectify mistakes. This was evident when they refused to cancel an erroneous charge, showing a lack of accountability for their own errors.

On top of these issues, the hotel's inability to provide replacement bed sheets was quite disappointing. This is a basic expectation that any guest would have, and the fact that they couldn't meet this standard was concerning.

Despite these shortcomings, it's worth noting that the food quality was commendable, and the facilities were kept clean. However, the overarching issue remained the poor communication and interaction with the staff, which unfortunately overshadowed the positive aspects.

In conclusion, my stay at this hotel was marked by a mix of both positive and negative experiences. While the food was satisfying and the facilities were well-maintained, the poor communication, lack of accountability, and oversight in service left a lot to be desired. We had a very pleasant stay at the resort. We stayed at one of the houses for 3 nights. The house was nicely furnished and decorated and had 1 double bedroom and a living room with a sofa bed that was very comfortable. It was clean and toiletries were provided. There was also a hair drier too. There were no coffee making facilities in the house but upon request a kettle and cups were provided. Overall, the service was great and all our requests were handled in a timely and very friendly way. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The location of the resort is perfect with stunning mountain views and close proximity to Bansko and Kavala (we even did a one day beach trip). The resort is perfect for kids with a huge football playfield, a small but sufficient heated outdoor pool, a playground with a trampoline and a small petting zoo. The only negatives we experienced and recommendations are that there was a problem with insects mainly flies and wasps or bees especially around the pool in the afternoons and around the restaurant. The staff should definitely try to fix the issue with the wasps as this might actually be quite dangerous for all the kids playing in the pool. The other recommendation is for the kids playground - the swing was very unstable and nearly broken and the trampoline wasn’t in great shape. Plus many of the toys like cars and bikes were broken. This is a gem that one should not miss out for sureee. We came for the weekend, we booked a double room, but since the guests were few, they gave us an apartment. Big and spacious rooms, clean, but what is for me the most exciting perk of this place is the fact that the kitchen uses local produce, they have a farm with many different animals.

We literally cleaned our plates off. I want to also congratulate Alexander, who was most helpful, calm and polite. Rarely have I seen such sweet and humble person in Bulgarian resort to help us on the reception desk, to serve us in the restaurant from breakfast until dinner, even to manage the spa facility. Overall - we love the guy.

I would like also to congratulate the kitchen staff who made specials meals for me because of my Christmas fast. Everything they prepared was spot on in terms of flavor, deliciously fresh and made with care. We love this place. Amazing!
