We booked a Suite superior for 30 days, as we were good impressed by the pictures. The hotel itself looks good, let’s say it was built as 4 stars, it’s maintained as 2 stars and almost the whole personnel is good for working in (maybe) a hostel. We left 15 days earlier to go to another hotel.
Pros: the room was quite big, looked nice, was decently decorated, clean and with almost everything one could need in a hotel room. Nice big pool outside and swimming pool inside although they close it at 19:00. In sommer, with 35-40°C outside…
Cons: The air conditioning is way too weak (we had at least 27°C inside) and after we asked the receptionist to fix it, all we got was a cheap portable fan. No one showed up to try to fix things. The hallway of the 5th floor was colder than our room. The blinds in the room don’t work, the curtains are semitransparent so there’s always light filtering in, the terrace looks ugly as hell, it misses the sun roof and is completely useless. We had a small kitchen inside, although without any silverware, pots or pans. I had to “steal” the silverware from the breakfast place to have any.
The personnel: except for 2 kind women, they don’t feel the need of greeting the guests; if one greets them first, they don’t even care enough to answer. Almost no one can speak english: when asked if they can, they look annoyed and often not even answer.
As we were staying one month in there we needed of course the laundry service: when we got our clothes back, they weren’t properly dry and they just drop them inside a bag without even fold them. Not one isolated case but in two different occasions.
The Wi-Fi is so weak that makes it completely useless. We needed it to work from there and we had to buy a SIM card to put in the mobile router we was (fortunately) carrying with.
The breakfast is the saddest thing we’ve ever seen in the hundreds hotels we’ve been in. They put it in a corner of the “restaurant” room behind some loudspeakers and a mixer, used probably 10 years ago for a birthday party or something. The tablecloths had the same stains during the 15 days we stayed there, meaning no one ever changed them. Low quality products, no descriptions at all. Allergies? Who cares…
In almost all common parts of the hotel, like the entrance, the hall, the cafeteria, the restaurant, the lights are always off except what’s strictly necessary, making the ambient inside even sadder and more unwelcoming.
The room service: first time we called, everything ok. The second time we tried calling the reception at least 5 times, no one picked up. We had to go downstairs and order by showing the menu (because of course no one would’ve understand anything), then the guy told us we must go back to take the dishes as soon as they’re ready because he was alone and he could not leave the reception unattended (then why no one’s picked the phone when we were calling? That’s a mystery…). We got mediocre and bland food. Not too expensive though.
The “gym” is a couple of old tools in a room with at least 30°C inside, also completely useless.
I can’t say anything about the SPA because we never went in.
There’s also nothing close to the hotel, like restaurants or cafes, one must always take the car to reach other services.
This hotel shouldn’t have more than 2 stars.
We never had to change the locations we went in (usually 1 or 2 months each), this was...
Read moreThe overall experience was really nice. The outside look is a bit misleading as it’s an old hotel, but inside it’s decently maintained. There are a lot of parking spaces around the hotel and it’s right next to the park and at the same time it’s 15 min walk from the center. The rooms are really nice - a lot of space, big bed, decent couch, table and desk. For the past year this is the first hotel that has actually usable TV with USB and HDMI ports so we were able to watch our stuff on a bigger screen. The bathroom was also big, however here is the only problem - for some reason we didn’t had hot water (not sure if it was just our room or the entire floor), but we asked at the reception and eventually we got some warm water that was enough to take a quick bath. Outside of that everything else is nice - especially the restaurant - the prices are above average, but the service is good and the food is really good and well made. There is a free breakfast, but not on the level of the payed food as it is a standard...
Read moreThe only good words I can tell about the hotel is about its location. It is in the middle of the Kenana park - the green lungs of Haskovo. I was there on a business trip, and had very negative experience with all other aspects of my stay. There was no hot water in the morning, and I had to call the receiption via my mobile (the landline, I was told "is not working on the third floor"). Then I had to wait another 15 mnutes in order the hot water to come. The rooms are big, but yu can tell the hotel is not well maintained - there are signs of rust and decay in the bathroom, on the terrace. There is an interl pool, but of course it was closed for some renovation or othe reason. Definitely will chose another hotel, if I have to go back...
