Lodge Hotel Borovitsa — Hotel in Kardzhali

This place was quite nice, it has an amazing view and it's the only place of that nature in the area. Due to that however, it is a bit pricy for no other apparent reason. The room we stayed in was very small and the kitchen is nothing special. You'll get far better prices and quality for less money if it wasn't at the lake's bed. It also pulls quite a lot of tourists being close to the Utroba cave and the Paradise View trail, so it can get crowded.

Note: The Paradise View trail that starts at the hotel entrance (not the yellow marking down the road) I would not recommend for inexperienced hikers, elderly or kids. Some sections are...

We only had lunch at the restaurant and did not stay at the hotel, so this review is based solely on our dining experience. The portions were generous—especially the traditional Bulgarian bread parlenka, which was the size of a large pizza, and the shopska salad, which was also quite substantial. For the small price of 80lv (~40 Euro) what is it that you are getting: small dirty room mini bathroom, again- dirty towels that are as soft as a towel of stone broken furniture 1 table stand for a double room and my favorite: we were a group of people and made our reservation at least 2 months in advance. Still, we all waited at least 1 hour for our food. For 1,5 hours, all I got from my order - tarator, bread, and french fries, was the tarator.
