Dimcho Kehaya — Hotel in Kotel

It was a great quick getaway with my family. Sadly, we stayed for one night, but I wish it was for more. The region, specifically the village carry a great historical and cultural heritage for Bulgaria, especially the enlightenment period. All buildings are from the style of the 17-18th century, but this cafe has its building completely renovated, yet with traditional furniture and architecture. A lot of the food was homemade and really tasty, with the only deal being the poor options in the menu. You could grab a meal if you are vegetarian, but it mostly has grill (the meat for some dishes was also home prepared :)). They have wonderful homemade cakes and pies and even traditional candies, which you can’t find anywhere, but their utmost special is the Turkish coffee on sand. The best taste of freshly prepared coffee, you can have. It is very likely that you may visit that Guest house in another season, with another group and those observations may not be relevant to you. We visited in Fenruary, so the restaurant was quite cold, upstairs the apartments were a little warm (even one of the mornings all of the radiators were cold); food is not tasty at all, neither a choice is present; at the house there was no working TV (surely that is a problem of the provider, not of the house, but it persisted); to our kids was forbidden to sit and lay on the retro part, resembling how Bulgarians slept and ate 100 years ago, because it was possible that they would break the small wooden tables; So, as general the breakfast was great, but we disliked the attitude that the family which hosted the house showed to us, even...

I recently stayed at this guest house and it exceeded all my expectations. The rooms were not only comfortable but also spotlessly clean, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The food served was absolutely delicious, offering a delightful culinary experience. What truly stood out, though, was the incredible staff.
