Hotel Tri Buki — Hotel in Kyustendil

The hotel is located in the Osogovo mountain, some 2 minutes drive from the Osogovo ski center. As far as I know, before becoming a hotel, it served as a camping site for children during communist times. Therefore one can still sense the influence of the past - our room was perfectly clean but the carpet needed changing. In any case it's a minor thing compared to everything else about the hotel.||Food at the restaurant is delicious, they help you with appropriate food packages in case you want to go hiking in the mountain and need sandwiches for the day.||There is an open-air swimming pool overlooking the peaks and the forest around and it's just great.||From the hotel there are a few marked mountain paths. You can get a map from the hotel reception shop and all of them are printed on it. The most important one is to Ruen peak - the highest in Osogovo. The walk from the hotel takes about 3.5 hours up and 2.5-3 hours down, there are a few steep slopes but basically it's a graduate and mild climb. Take your ID/passport with you, because Ruen is on the border with Macedonia and border patrols often drive around. On the halfway to the peak there is a drinking fountain. Ok, so at first glance the place was nice, but then when we started to look around - oh, no. The bed in the room we thounght was about to crack any moment. The water in the toilet was running all the time, and as I see now, we were not the only ones to expirience this.|Since we were a group of friends, all we wanted to do is have a good time, so we were fine with all of that. But what really ruined our whole trip was the joke of a restaurant they have. First off - the staff was unbelievably rude, the food was almost every time unedible and low-key awful, so we had to send it back to the kitchen, which I guess made them so rude and angry with us. Every portion (the whole table ordered the same thing) was different size, and they were acting like we're there for free, which happened the next day also. All we wanted was to have a good time, and those guys totally ruined it for us. Instead, we went home pissed. |Try it for yourself, but I would never recommend it to...

The only good thing there is the view and nature. Room was cold, walls isolation doesn't exist. We could hear everything from the next room. They lock the hotel around 12 - 01 a.m. (the front door, back door, terrace) which is not safe at all. If the fire starts people can't go out of the hotel! The restaurant staff was motivated only when we had dinner and I think it's because we were 20 people there, eating and drinking. They didn't have anything for lunch, ladies from the kitchen were smoking outside. They agreed to make toasts for us and right after we finished the lunch the host told us to leave already so they can lock and go. The shower holders in the bathroom are broken in every room so you don't stay for a long time under the shower! The price for this place is high - 60 BGN for a double room which it doesn't...
