Wanted to try Bulgarian traditional rather than tourist manufactured.||This place is down a rough track in the country side. There is accommodation, an organic shop and a restaurant.||Booking proved a bit hit and miss. Mainly our fault because we have no Bulgarian. Some e-mails were ignored. We called early on the day and confirmed.||It was a buffet, all locally produced, organic and tasty. It was only labelled in Cyrillic, so I've no idea.||Lots of family groups, kids, grannies. Plus a good local trio, kettle drum, pipe and accordion. Fun. Enjoyable. The local city Bansko is primarily reserved for ski-season tourist. However the countryside and the mountains are a visit worth in the summer as well. So if your not in to discotheques and cheap food, this is an awesome retreat I would recommend families, hikers or couples for a nice weekend in a beautiful and friendly environment. I've visited the place twice in two years. The family that runs the Bio-hostel is great hosts, the food is great as well the wine, served with personality. I have never stayed in the hotel associated with the restaurant, but have been now to the restaurant five times at least during last 3 years, and want to report that it is a great place. Not fussy, not fancy, very simple, very cheap, but really extremely good Bulgarian food made from their own organic produce and ingredients, charming service, nice ambiance. It's a really lovely place (extremely child friendly by the way so don't come up you are too stuffy to enjoy kids running around).
